Chest pains from anxiety!

Surgery is this comming Thursday. Anyone else have last minute anxiety? I am excited about the results of the surgery, but the surgery itself has me worried, because of my past history of complications. I've discussed them with my DR, and we're having a surgeon scrub in just in case, but I am still worried!

I haven't had chest pains but I have had heart palpatations, and what I beleive are mini panic attacks.
I would call your Dr. just in case.

I haven't had chest pains but major anxiety on Friday - I pretty much melted down all morning and peace came over me on Saturday. I have a headache from stress but am otherwise hanging in till Tuesday. Most likely you are just stressed but you should check with your doctor. Maybe he/she could call in something to help keep you calm until your castle visit?? Good luck.

I hope that you will follow the advice the others have already given you and please call your doctor to be sure that your chest pains are not anything more serious, and to ask if he will prescribe something mild to ease your stress.

Please don't self-diagnose, though. That might be dangerous. Please let us know what you find out.

I have a slight heart murmer, so as a precaution at my pre op tomorrow they are doing an EKG, so hopefully if something bigger is going on, then it should show up.

Thanks everyone. I am sure it's stress, but will find out for sure tomorrow. My hubby is also an EMT, so if something urgent happens, I *should* be ok.
