I'm getting one in the city. I brought a pillow, blanket, step stool for getting in the truck.

OMG! There is NO WAY you can go back the next day! Our roads were not even bad & I felt every little bump that I'd normally not even noticed before. As well as motion, if hubby took a corner too fast. If you are still able to use your phone & are reading this, please talk to your doctor. Maybe he can justify keeping you a couple extra days, and then do a couple in the nearby hotel. I am sorry, sister, I wish there was a better way, but as they say, you only have one chance to heal right. Still praying for you.

How did it all go? I once did a 5 hour drive while having an ectopic and got to the hospital and had a dx and emergency surgery. I would have died had it burst during the drive as there are no services.

I have multiple large fibroids and we are trying for a TLH but it might end up being a TAH.

If it is a TLH, I may be release the following morning. Is it realistic for my husband to drive me home or will that just be a disaster? There is a 250 km stretch with no services. I will be staying in a hotel the night before surgery but I'd rather be at home afterwards if possible.

I went home the day after surgery with Dvh both ovaries and cervix removed. I drove 106 miles to the hospital the morning of, husband stayed with me in the room in a chair and we drove the 106 miles home the next day. It was not a bad ride and I had to climb up in to the truck. Surgery at 7:30 am so we left home at 3:30 am. I was much happier doing this than staying somewhere else.

Thanks so much for posting her update. I had been thinking about & praying for her. I can't imagine having to have made such a trip right after surgery.
