Laparoscopic assisted Hysterectomy

I need help please. I am 36 and found out I was pregnant 1 1/2 week ago today. 1 week ago I found out I am having a tubal pregnancy, 4 days ago I was given methotrexate to help dissolve the tubal. Today my hcg levels have dropped ever so slightly and they found the mass located between my posterior left ovary and rectum. I am having Major pain beyond my thresh hold for pain. Due to the methotrexate I cannot take anything for the pain as it will cause an interaction and the medication to not work.
The dr just called and would like to schedule me for a Laparoscopic assisted Hysterectomy. I have no idea if that is a good idea in my condition and am scared as the methotrexate lowers the bodies immune system drastically. Please anyone that had any advice or sound knowledge let me know. I am ok having a hyst as I am done having children I just Want to be safe!
Thank you,
Alys

Re: Laparoscopic assisted Hysterectomy

Ah, I'm sorry you're in such a painful situation. I'd say it would be best to follow your doctor's recommendation. Your doctor knows you are taking that medication and can take appropriate action for any possible complications it may cause. You may have to stop taking that medication a few days before surgery, but I don't know for certain. Of course, talk to your doctor about any questions and concerns you have so your mind can be eased. Maybe a full hysterectomy isn't necessary, but may be best.

Please discuss your situation and concerns with your doctor. He or she is best to answer your questions.
