Re: Fibristal and Acessa

My large fibroid was 16cm x 12cm and smaller one was 8 x 6. I had acessa last Wed (6 days post op) and I'm having very minimal pain. My tummy feels extremely less hard and full. It is laparoscopic. I did have to have 7 incisions. But over all I would recommend this to everyone having issues with their aliens(fibroids)....I feel so much better knowing how less invasive it is compared to other options. And...I'm glad to have a doctor who is doing this procedure. It was like a party in the OR. There were residents there to watch this new procedure. The doctor training my doctor was there and people from halt medical(the producer of the access wand) to help dial in the intricate details of the procedure. I'm glad I could be used for learning also. So many will benefit from this.....

Re: Fibristal and Acessa

Hi , Glad it went well. Where did you have it done?.I was told my fibroid may be too large for acessa. Did you have to shrink your fibroid prior to surgery? Mine is 12.7 cm. I have little symptoms, weak bladder and sore back.It was recommended that I have a hysteroctomy but it doesnt sit right with me, since I feel fine.thank you....

I'm trying to get into the trial study in Ontario but they told he fibroids have to be 10 cm of under for acessa. Where are you having it done? In the USA?

Re: Fibristal and Acessa

Yes. USA. I am totally in love with my procedure. Acessa saved my life. I was a slave to pain meds and heating pads. My fibroid was about twice the size they thought pre-surgery. It made me look pregnant. Like far along pregnant!!! This procedure has so few side effects, and is so less invasive than any other options!!! No question, hands down, if you have symptomatic fibroids, this is the way to go. Find a doctor to do it. Or come see my doctor!!! He rocks!!!!

Wow, that's great! Glad for you. Can I get the name and coordinates of your doctor. I'm not sure ill qualify for the trial study so I'm considering going to the USA. I've tried contacting a doctor <> in Boston but no response thus far.

<please do not post physician names on the public boards per TOS; please share the privately.>

Fibristal and Acessa

I read we weren't supposed to name docs. <> mine was huge. Like a large watermelon. And another size of a grapefruit. So far I feel amazing. I'm back to working out. And I'm only 5 weeks post op. I'm a power lifter. I had to stop lifting a few months before surgery bc I was in so much pain. But I'm telling you. This is a total game changer for fibroids. This it's going to become the standard treatment for fibroids. I just know it!! :-)

Re: Fibristal and Acessa

Wow I'm so impressed! Thank you very much! My doc recommended a hysterectomy after seeing me for less than 5 minutes. No other options . Going for a second opinion next week and waiting for a doc in Ontario to see if I qualify for acessa. I have little symptoms except for feeling bloated / Pregnant. And frequent urination. I'ma runner so i can 't run long distances . Mine is 12.7 cm. I've done lots of research and so far this one wins!! Did they suggest shrinkage before the procedure and were you on any meds after?

I'm having my done in California. I'm pretty excited to have my life back if it works. Sad to say that after dealing with symptoms for nearly nine years I can't beleive I have a chance to be "normal" again. I don't even think I remember what normal is.

My fibroid is making me look nearly five months pregnant, pain, I was severely anemic from hemmoraging every month. So they put me on low dose birth control but now I've been spotting for over two months. 12/17 can't come soon enough!
