good moning ladies - I had to go shopping for something to wear on the casual side the other day - I have plenty of sweatpants and I have been losing weight ahead of the surgery so my work clothes have a lot of extra room in the right spot - espcially if swelly belly lasts a year (Yikes! ) I wear suits to work - 99% of time - I have a few dresses too. Anyway as I am long winded today I found a "crazy clearnce - all items $5" and I actualy got a few nice pieces for now that I can toss or give away later. Some of the spring dresses I am seeing are high waisted so that might work as well. I still have a good day and then less energy - and that darned incision! - oh well the band they sell here does help with the SB - I use mine every day now. As for wild life here in my part of MN - WAY too many deer - hardly a spot for them to live so they cross the road often and it's no fun to hit one. Lots of birds and squirrles and bunnies so I gave up the veggie garden years ago - still put in a few flowers for color. The ladies in England with the gorgeous lot and surround are lucky - we can't even walk in our backyard yet as the mud is so deep - oh well, May is coming. On another subject - I have run into a few folks who are "shocked" that I rushed (?) into surgery and then they want to tell me awful things....I just quiet then down with "not rushed - I worked on this for 8 years" I hope no one else is going through this sort of nonsense. I had dd at an appointment yesterday and the MD wanted my history to help her treatment. I loved her comment "Just imagine how hard it was for women before we could treat these things = and how much we can do now that we can get help and not be ruled by our cycles!." I thought that was great! They now know to watch my dd for symptoms and hopefully treat her sooner. Oh I want to wish a Happy St. Pat's to all who celebrate - my dh is 1/8 Irish - enough to raise a brew or a fine Irish whiskey tommorow evening.

Hi Jujubear,
Sorry that you're having flashes and sleeplessness. I can only imagine that it's related to the hormone changes. Did you have ovaries removed too? Seems to me that your doc needs to make some adjustments. Have you tried chamomile tea to help you sleep?? I am not having either of your issues, but it may be due to my ovaries still being there. I pray that you get some resolve soon and remember you can always talk to your doc before your scheduled appt. I wouldn't wait if I were you. Take care and I'll pray for Jujubear!

FF1962- I hope these people aren't close friends. It is sometimes amazing how people who do not know anything on a subject will speak their minds about it. Thanks for reminding me

Also a very Happy St. Patrick's Day for those of you who celebrate and for those who don't but wear green anyway.

To the ladies who aren's sleeping well - i am with you too - but I didn't sleep great before the surgery - so now instead of waking for no apparent reason I wake because I am so hot.....now my DH keeps warm next to me! - he works odd shifts and comes it latepm/earlyam sometimes. I'm not taking any hormones yet - but if they will help ! MD said we'd decide at my 6 week on the 22nd Pocono - thanks, ! that is coming from some folks I know - just not super close or they just don't pay attention - oh well!

Ff1962-My father's side of the family is very Irish. (Aparently they were potato farmers back in the day.) Now to my father's delight my dd's birthday is on St Patrick's Day! I think we'll celebrate with green mashed potatoes and no snakes this year.

Badgers, deer, skunks,bears...you guys are making me homesick. We do have the occasional marsupial or skunk family that lives under our front porch. They come and eat/drink our cats food & water. That is as close as we get to wildlife here in town.

I had thrush two days after my surgery and it was HORRIBLE! I couldn't taste my food for a week. I just threw out the rest of the medicine for it this morning! Hopefully its behind me. I haven't had any discharge from the v cuff but the doc did tell me not to be surprised if I do get some within the next two weeks.

Don't you LOVE all the wildlife you get to see when you're home? I live very near a major highway (I can see it from my back deck) but we also have 2 acres of semi-wooded land which backs up on a few hundred acres which include a lake and river. We have moose and deer, LOTS of red-tailed hawks, doves, woodpeckers, cardinals, finches, and last spring we had two mallards that moved in for mating season. They came by every day to be fed corn and then swam in the pool next door for the afternoon! No babies but we're hoping this year we may see some. Most recently we've been blessed with two stray cats who we feed and who SEEM to be keeping down the bird/squirrel population. My guess is they actually live in a house around here but whoever owns them leaves them out at night in sub zero weather so it serves them RIGHT if they find one day their cats don't come home! I already have 3 cats and 2 dogs in my house so can't bring them in but I don't mind feeding them. But it DOES start to feel like a farm what with the indoor pets, AND the outdoor birds, ducks, cats, etc. LOL We even load up squirrel feeders so they'll leave the bird seed alone. And being home these past few weeks I've gotten to see the daytime visitors in the yard. LOVE IT!

I am not sure who mentioned snakes but we have those too. Last summer my kids were out playing and we came across a den of six snakes = they were garter snakes but who cares. We have a small snake and animal farm up here so I called them and my dh went out with a shovel and other instruments, picked them up, put them in the garbage can and we moved them very far into the woods. That is the one thing I really don't like. We also have lots of birds and sometimes hear the ducks flying overhead along with owls, hawks, and of course, lots of squirrels. Another funny story was when the kids were little I looked out on the deck and on the railing was a squirrel I thought was dead. I called my dh and said you have to come home and get rid of the deal squirrel on the deck. He laughed. Well this squirrel no exaggeration stayed there for about 4 hours. I just happen to be looking at it and it's head pops up. Scared the daylights out of me and the squirrel just took off. I have only seen that once in the 17 years I am living up here but I am serious the squirrel did not move. My dh really got a laugh out of that. I think living with nature is great except for the snakes. And of course, if I am outside with the bears.

Oh ladies... I am such a girl!! I have *nothing* to wear to the party tomorrow night and after my grocery shopping expedition yesterday, I know better than to go to the mall today to look!! DH offered to go and pick something up for me, and actually he has great taste! But still, he inevitably will buy the wrong size. Not that I don't love that he thinks I am still a 4!! haha.
So I called one of the shops in charlotte to see if they would pull something for me so DH could swing by and pick it up. They PRIDE themselves in excellent service, but still no call back!! UGH. I literally have nothing to wear!! Nothing fits except my jeans, and I can't wear jeans and tank to this restaurant!! can you believe this has thrown me into such a tizzy? Tons and tons of summer dresses that would be perfect if it were June, but nothing for now. Too late to order something online. GRRRRRRR
thanks for letting me vent!

Pia -
Is it possible to wear one of your summer things (if anything looks a little springy looking) with possibly a nice jacket or sweater or scarf? This is great. It shows you are returning to normal life and it's the little things that annoy you. Have fun at the dinner. Also call back the store. Are there any stores in your area that might have an online catalog that you could look at and then pick out something for dh to buy. Also maybe get something and buy it in two sizes, keep the one that fits and return the one that doesn't.
