Well I survived my first day back at work. It actually felt good to be there. So many things have changed in 6 weeks it's like being in a foreign land! I only had to work for 8.5 hours and didn't have to lift anything. I feel like I'm so behind already! I'm a little tired and wouldn't mind a nap, but I'll hold off. Hopefully I'll sleep well tonight.
My stomach is a little crampy. Guess I'll sit for awhile.

Hope those of you recovering a little slower are feeling better. I thought about you guys all day. Even was telling the office ladies about hystersister.com

Hi everyone. Had my 6 1/2 week post op appt today. He did do an internal but thanks to you ladies I took something before going so it did not hurt. He said everything looked good. I still cannot bend, stretch or lift anything for another 2 weeks. Unless I have complications he does not want to see me again. He did not say anything about the swelly belly and why it is happening so I was not happy about that. He also said some pain (twinges) and pulling can last up to 2-3 years. I have been a little constipated which I never really had that problem before so he did say if it does not resolve in the next 2 weeks he may decide to do a cat scan. I got my pathology and surgical report but did not read it through yet. All I saw was that I had a lot of adhesions. I did a couple of errands afterwards with dh and then we went food shopping. I have not been in a food store for over 7 weeks so it felt a little strange especially since their renovating the one I usually go to. I am very tired and having some pain where as soon as I came home I had to lay down and rest. I have noticed that even though I still think I am getting to much pain as soon as I rest the pain was alleviated. Hope everyone has a good night and will talk more later. Hugs to everyone.

Thanks for the info PoconoW and glad everything is looking good! I am becoming convinced that the Swelly Belly is something that Docs are trained to deny exists. Why?! It is real for those of us suffering it! I did my biggest walk yesterday (about 40 mins) then about 3 weeks of laundry (ugh) which really showed me where my boundaries are - ouch. I was careful, but was exhausted by end of the day.

Ok, Ladies. Got back from overnight to AC. I was a trouper while there, but after 2 hours back to my friends house, and a 1 hour drive by myself home, I am in pain. It is definitely going to be a while before anyone can coax me in a car that long, especially as the driver. My pain is all on my right side, which made driving even harder. She drove down to AC and back to her house, but even the lesser part of the drive was hard.

Glad I did it though. I was equally glad I had talked my doctor into the Tylenol 3, and used 3 to get thru the 2 days.

Will take it easy tomorrow am, but have a lot of things to fit in before I get back to work next week.

Also have Swelly Belly like crazy. Boy, this is fun, huh?

Hi all,
Today was my first day back at work, Iusually work a 12 hour shift, but did 9 today and boy o boy am I beat! It was good to see all the girls at work, but I have a lot to catch up on. I have swelly belly like mad, my feet are swollen, and I am too tired to go for my walk tonight. I have been walking for a couple of weeks now to alleviate the brainfog and get back in to shape, and i feel bad that I am too tired to walk. Weather is so great here tonight too!! I should force my self. Dang, I'm tired. If I had a buddy (like any one of you sisters), I would probably go on the walk.
I still have not seen any stiches show up yet, wonder if I will? I hope everyone is doing well, talk to you tomorrow.

hey lainiek
good to see you here again. I can only imagine what it was like to go to AC for 2 days. Hope you're feeling better soon. I had to do Chuck E Cheese for my youngests 6th birthday party today. By the time I was driving home, I was begging for advil. I know what you mean about swelly belly.

Pocono, hope you're feeling ok. I still haven't been to the food store yet, and it seemed my dr. was blaming me for the bulging above my incision, that it is mine unless I want to lose it, even though I didn't have it before. Hope everything works out well for you.

All the other girls, I know what you're going through. I can get into the size 6 pants, but it's not the same. I feel like I don't belong in the real world. I feel like I belong in the world of women that wear yoga pants. So, I still stay in the house way more than I ever would, because I want to hide my body from the world.

Tomorrow morning is my 6 wk check up- and I'll be tossing back the 800 mg motrin beforehand this time for sure!! Always get nervous going to the Dr... but i'm sure he'll tell me everything is fine. I'm not getting much pain at all anymore- jsut a little heaviness and aching after lots of activity. I've resumed life almost as I know it. Grocery shopping, errands, driving...but this brain fog is still awful!! I have yet to pick up the drycleaning- or even remember about it. It's been 6 weeks!! Hope they still have it. Oh well- it was mostly DH's stuff!!

Don't want to face the world tomorrow. I have my 6 week checkup in the morning and a ton of errands to do, along with chatting with everyone at dd's mothers morning out thing. *major* hair trauma today! I have alwyas been blonde, then in October I decided to go brunette and loved it.... for a few months and then I was ready to go back to my roots!! haha- stupid pun intended. DH told me on the way to the dr 3 wks post op it looked greasy! the horrors-- it was freshly washed!! obviously going to the salon was out of the question during recovery, so I asked one of my sons friends mothers, who is a stylist, to come do my hair. she came over last monday to do heavy highlights- big mistake. Came out dark brown with brassy highlights and a few streaks of blonde, so she came back today to do more heavy highlights. WOAH. Really really orangy brassy, so she used some toner. I am not kidding ladies- it turned my hair PINK and PURPLE!! Thrilled dd, who wanted miss donna to do her hair pink, too. It wouldn't rinse out.... she had me wash my hair with TIDE! Yes- tide laundry detergent. wouldn't come out. shampoo after shampoo and still nothing!! She left and came back with something to remove it, and it did come out. however, i am now left with about 3/4 of the hair I had, most of what is left is now frizzy and damaged... and it's a lovely shade of tarnished brass with a few white streaks and of course, the old chestnut brown glaring out from the brass every so often. lovely.
jsut in time for dds big birthday blowout this weekend.Photographer will catch me in all my glory... and of course, I can't do a thing to fix the color unless I want to shave it all off. If it doesn't fall out first.

Seems like I've been focusing on the most trivial things recently. Dresses and hair. Like there aren't more important things to worry about? It's so unlike me!! But it still stinks!
And nothing- I mean nothing- fits. After I dropped the last of my pregnancy weight, i did a major closet cleanout and got rid of all the new clothes i had bought to fit my more curvy shape post partum. I wish i hadn't done that!! Stupid swollen belly. Wait- I didn't have a TAH- I had a TVH. So I guess my swelly belly is because I haven't done a darn thing for 6 weeks!

Hey girls...well, I made it!!! I really feel like a new woman. Maybe it's because it is the first time in a year and three months that I don't have something very wrong going on inside me but I have really turned the corner. I'll have to post this on the other thread too I guess.

Rodswife - I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers

Goodnight ladies, talk to you tomorrow
