hundjm - so sorry about Tigger. We have 3 indoor cats, 2 barn cats and 2 cats we fostered to my DPs parents because they'd lost two and were SO sad. Some people don't understand the connection with cats because they can be so independent, but I truly think if you gain the respect and affection of a cat you've managed a real communication and cultural breakthrough! I hope you have lots of happy memories of Tigger and can celebrate the short but glorious life that was his. I had a kitten a few years back.... her name was Jay and she died suddenly of liver failure.... I only had her for two months but she and I connected amazingly and I still keep a picture of her on my computer wallpaper. Hers was a VERY short life but we wouldn't have traded the time we had with her for anything!

Just wanted to say hi and I'm thinking of all of you. So sorry about all the difficulties. It is so wonderful to have this forum where everyone can talk about their deepest feelings and emotions, without any criticism and always with kind words of advice. It's amazing. I haven't posted much, but I always check up on the site to see how everyone is doing. Have a nice day. Go out and enjoy the sun. It's warmth can help you feel better.

Oh I felt like my oldself yesterday. I got so much spring house cleaning done and then went outside and did a little. Last night I was actually able to do a fast sewing job. I had some aches and pains along the way but I had such great energy level afterwards. Today I wonke up a little sore but not in the belly other muscles that I haven't used in so long plus you know how that good old back likes to ache when you get up. Well another beautiful day here in NEW JERSEY and I plan on taking advantage of it. I hope everyone is feeling great and has a wonderful day. Hugs to everyone.

Bookah, my step mom had her thyroid removed and a few days after the surgery was called back in for 1 dose of radiation therapy. She had thyroid cancer but since they caught it early she is cancer free and no more treatments other than that one precautionary dose.

My college roomy had nodules and had her thyroid removed. No cancer.

I'm praying for all the best for you.

I'm so sorry to hear about your tigger. We have taken in stray cats forever. I think the most we had at one time is 22. My daughter keeps bringing them home from the college. The last one she brought us is about to have kittens. (I was down to 3 and ever so happy.) She gets to find the homes this time. They all have names, I know them all on site, and every time we lose one you lose a little bit.

Hi, girls. Well, I've been dreading the first lawn mowing of the year and I'm glad to say "mission accomplished". It took me about an hour to pick up sticks and other debris blown into the yard over the winter, about an hour to change the oil in the mower and then an hour to do the actual mowing. I'm pooped! (is that a swear word? maybe it'll be changed to "I'm honkerblonkered")

Bookah, good luck with your thyroid issues. I don't have any personal experience with that so don't have any advise but just want to remind you that we're all here for you.

hundjm, I'm so sorry about your loss. I had to make the same decision about a year and a half ago for my 16 1/2 yr. old kitty and it was one of the hardest things I ever did. It's amazing how close the bond between people and animals can be and somehow I suspect you were Tigger's special person in the family. Bless you for loving him enough to end his suffering.

Babs, how's the bedroom re-do coming along?

Pocono, I'll talk to my boss about the plane ticket (right before he laughs hysterically and throws me out of his office).

Hugs to all.

Hundjm – I am so sorry about your loss. I had many cats growing up and it is always hard to make that choice to have them with us a little longer or to end their suffering.

Singingmad, Flat Froggie, and Babs– thank you for the extensive information

Onthecouch - Stop in and chat or lurk whenever you can. We love to have you here.

Cbrn - I hope you start feeling better every day

Catnapper - congrats on the lawn mowing. I have a confession to make. I have never mowed a lawn

Everyone – thank you for your kind thoughts.

I have a little update, well first a clarification. I had the radioactive thyroid scan in November. I just think it is a little excessive to have me swallowing radiation pills every 6 months. I did look online Friday and found that we have three board certified Thyroidologists here in town. I called my insurance and they said they just switched from HMO to PPO so I am trying to get in to one of them. They were closed Friday.

We had wonderful weather here this weekend so I spent every minute outside. It was absolutely amazing.

If you can get in to see a specialist that's the way I'd go bookah! But having two so close together just this once shouldn't be a big issue. I'd worry if they're saying come back and do it EVERY 6 months cause that would seem excessive.

Wasn't this past weekend wonderful for those who live in the northeast???? It seemed like forever since we saw the sun. Friday my company actually closed down an hour early simply because it was nice out! LOL My DP, FIL and I spent Saturday clearing up the huge pine tree that fell next to our barn, and then yesterday we planted a pear tree and an apple tree. Those were my wedding gifts from last summer. We'd read that it was better to start young trees in the spring in this area so I had to wait to receive them! But they're beautiful and as yet don't seem to have gone into shock with their transfer. My body was aching and I fell asleep like a stone Saturday night. Last night I managed to stay awake til around 10 but again I was out shortly thereafter. Guess its all the fresh air, my allergies, and the TAH energy zap! My interview went really well last Friday so I'm hoping for some good news this week! It'll be LOVELY to give me notice from this place. I'm sure they think they bent over backwards giving me all that "time off", meaning the month I worked from home. For some reason they don't believe that from day 10 after my surgery I was sitting up with a laptop on my lap working from 8:30 - 5:00... even when they see the emails, spreadsheets, letters, etc.... to them it was just me staying home and checking my email once in a while! How aggravating!!! And now they've docked my pay because they're saying I used up all my sick and vacation time for the rest of the year! Ridiculous!!!!!

Hi ladies, I hope everyone is well today. Man I feel so good right no I hope that it stays. I got up and had my energy back. I have already made the beds vacuumed, did some laundry and cleaned the kitchen, It feels great. Yesterday I was out cleaning to pool deck with the hose and long handled scrub brush. I got some color while I was doing it. Grandkids were over helping too so that made it fun. My son in law hopped in the kayack and went around inside of it for fun. What a good old time it was. I hope it stays this nice. I go for my ct tomorrow to check on my hematoma from the hysterectomy so I hope that everything is normal. I have to drink that stuff 4 hours prior has anyone had that before? I am not good for drinking medicated stuff.

Catnip, I had a siamese cat for 19 1/2 years boy was it so hard when she passed away. One day she got sick and I called the vet they said to bring her to the office in the morning. I was getting the kids off to school and was able to sit down and talk to her. She was just laying there with what looked to me to be a cold. I said you were such a good kitty and I love you. I sat there for a few minutes crying and then she just passed away. Boy did that just kill me. My vet sent me a sympathy letter too when they heard. It is so hard to lose a pet. You take care.
