My PO visit is March 15. I didn't have staples so I didn't go back. In the hosptal she told me to make an appt. to see her in 5 weeks. My husband asked her about my steristrips--if they needed to be changed, etc. and she said no to just let them fall off. They coming up at edges and two were hanging there and I took them off. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't too early.

I didn't have staples, just stitches and strips. Did you guys with the staples have the dissolvable stitches as well?

I've had glue, steri strips and stiches. The steri strips have gone but I still have stiches at both ends of my scar which I expect will need taking out if they dont dissolve.

My steri strips came off 2 days after my doctor put them on. I had my staples removed on the 13th- exactly 1 week after surgery. My doctor had told me not to worry because they really didn't do anything. They were really just there to make me feel better.

As for the ups and downs- I am still feeling that big time.

Yesterday, I just took my daughter to the mall for a haircut and ice cream. Because I couldn't find a close spot to the entrance where the haircut place it, and it very cold and windy by us right now, I parked near the ajoining wing and we walked. I was ok on the walk to the haircut place, but had trouble on the way back. Not easy when you have a 4 yr old with you.

By the time I got home, I was getting major "zingers" and pain in my belly like the first week. It felt like I had been punched and beat up up again.

Needless to say, I was asleep by 9:30 last night (and that was pushing it- I was in bed at 7:30 and slept until 7:30 am).

I had been invited to a Communion tonight about an hour or so away, and a dinner afterwards, and backed out on Thursday. After ysdy, I am glad I did it. I am sorry that I will miss such a special day, but I am afraid I will be tired before the dinner even starts after such a long car ride.

I can't wait until I can do what my mind wants to do again. It is hard when your body keeps betraying you.

Oh Lainie.. I'm so sorry!! i can't imagine bringing Bella (almost 3) to the mall right now. I can't imagine bringing ME to the mall!!
So when you did too much, your body responded with pain? Hmmm. I guess I probably pushed it myself yesterday, because last night i had a horrible pain, kind of where you bend or pull from.
Well glad you're not going to the communion. It doesn't help celebrate the day if you're in pain and exhausted!! Feel better soon....

It took 2 weeks for the steri strips to "fall off" after my tah. Actually they had a little help the day before my 2 week apt, just couldn't take it anymore.

I still deal with insomnia. Figure it is because I'm used to being sooo much more involved with life than this, but I just get out of bed and join my fellow insomniacs on hystersisters!

Anyone else who kept their ovaries experiencing anything like this?
Yes that would be me - the crying one minute crabby the next - ready to jump out of my skin - (even more so under the circumstances) - isn't life grand?!!!
