Hi, everyone. Happy belated 4th!

Theresa and Madeline, I have a sewing problem that I hope you can help me with. The problem is with a few pair of slacks I have that have a zipper and then a button and a pair of hooks and eyes. The thread that holds the hook and eye keeps breaking. I have to repair them every few times I wear them. A coworker has the same problem. The slacks fit fine so it's not that they're being pulled on excessively. I just use regular thread. Do you think I need to try a different kind of thread?

Good luck with the wedding this weekend, Theresa. I wish we could see the dress.

Laura try some button or upholestry thread. It is must stronger and usually holds up well. I'll try to remember to send a picture to you. It should be fun it is a celtic theme, bagpiper and kilt, lots of Scottish things being used. It should be great fun. Well, off to bed. Talk to you soon.

Hello all. I'm still having problems with my scar healing. Hopefully the problem area will not have to be recut. It is a bit uneven at present but no build up of poison at the moment. I hope the wedding goes well Madeline. We have an Evensong to do at Harwich next week. Hope it isn't cold wet and windy. That is the English Summer at the moment! I want to rehearse some trios with my colleague who plays clarinet and our friend who is a pianist but until the schools break up in two weeks there is very little time. I'm getting very tired to the point of exhaustion. Is anyone else struggling in this way or am I just overdoing things? Poco how are you? How are the shots going? To everyone who is going on their hols have some happy ones.

Hey y'all! I hope everyone is doing ok! We had over 6 inches of rain in the last 15 hours so I'm at home staying off of the flooded roads! Not too fun with my now 4 yr old DD and 12 yr old DS!
My recovery has been really great! I feel better than I have in years! The only thing I have going on is pain in my vagina. Sorry! I know, TMI, but that's the only way to explain it! It's not deep, but painful. I'm thinking about going to my dr to ask what is up!
I guess I'll go do some work around my very messy house!(not that I want to )
Talk to y'all soon! Elizabeth

Hi elizabeth. Glad you're staying out of the floods. that sounds dangerous. Maybe that pain is from dryness? Just a thought.

Bagpuss, my wedding gig got cancelled. The person who hired us was giving our performance as a gift to the bride. I guess last weekend the bride made it VERY clear that she did not want strangers singing at her wedding... the woman who hired us asked her if she could just be gracious and accept the gift in the spirit it was given and they had a huge fight about it! So she finally called us yesterday to tell us she didn't want us to sing. We're giving the money back except for the amount we had to pay for the musical arrangement itself since we can't get that back. I'm not too disappointed because now I have an extra Saturday free!

Going to a bbq tomorrow afternoon and we've finally gotten some bids on the kitchen extension and our fencing goes in in two weeks. I have to paint the ceiling in our office tomorrow morning and then we need to move the furniture back in there. Slowly the house is becoming "fixed up" and I"m feeling better all the time. But I do find that when I get tired, its SUDDEN! I sit for a bit, or lie down and get my energy back but some days it takes a few hours. I think its because my core strength isn't quite back to where it should be. and when THAT poops out, I'm down for the count!

Hi everyone. Hope everyone is enjoying their day.
Elizabeth - sorry about the flooding but glad to know you are doing well, are safe and staying inside.

Bagpuss - I had my 4th shot this past monday and it seems as long as I don't do anything the pain has eased up some but as soon as I stand for a little while it comes right back. It is so frustrating but thanks for asking. I am sorry you are still having trouble with your incision. Hope it gets better. Sounds like things are going well. How is your ds?

Singingmad - Sorry about the cancellation of your wedding gig. Sounds like you are doing a lot of work on the house but it also sounds like a lot of fun. Have fun at your bbq tomorrow.

Guineapig - I left you a note on the PA thread. I don't know if you saw it. How are things going with hubby in Florida? Has he had any of the surgeries yet?

Hi Jayne, I should have checked the other thread before posting. I have actually been in Tarpon Springs so started laughing when I read the thread. Yes I learned that too that they are the sponge capital of the world. lol. Sounds like hubby is getting good care down there and when he is done you can concentrate on you getting better. I am sure it is very hot so enjoy the swimming. Good luck with all his surgeries. Talk to you soon.

Hi Nanette, we plan to do a sunset cruise out of Tarpon Springs tonight, have you done one?We did the pool yesterday the temp on the wall said 100, and the water was refreshing.Today is also laundry day, we have to go down a floor to the laundry area, but there are two washers and dryers so it should go fast.I am thinking about stopping my HRT (prometrium 12 days a month), I feel like I am gaining so much weight especially in my face and belly, plus it makes me feel yucky. What do you think?? As always it's nice to talk to you.I'll chat again later, take care.

Hi Jayne, I did not do the cruise but sounds really nice. I think you should talk to your dr about stopping the prometrium unless you are pretty confident it won't cause you any other problems? Have you ever tried something natural. I kept my ovaries so don't deal with HRT issues. The other thing I wanted to mention was if they have checked your thyroid. When I originally went to the dr I thought it was a thryoid problem and they said it was the diabetes. It seems that symptoms can be the same for both. Hope you are having a great time today. Take care.
Nanette
