PLWC1, good luck with driving. I was going to try this weekend and realized I can't do it yet. I had only been out twice to the dr since my sah on 2/7 but this past Sun my dh took me to the library to get some more books to read. I then went to the mall which is like 2 minutes from the library to return things to two different stores. After that I was exhausted. My dh took my steri strips off last night so that feels a little bit better and I actually fell asleep at 1 a.m. and slept till 3, was up for 5 minutes and slept again till 6 a.m. when my kids get up for school. To me that was a great sleep. I finally feel like I am starting to heal. It is tough when you are used to being able to go when you need to and I have had to ask my friends for rides for my kids to their activities since my dh went back to work. I know they don't mind but I still feel bad about it. Anyway here is hoping that we are all really on the mend. Hugs to everyone.

Well,I drove today!!! Just about 2 miles, but it was sure nice to go somewhere without an escort!!!
I have been doing really good. Just so bored!! I am tired of reading, watching tv, doing puzzles, and laying around, but I will continue this life of leisure until I am given the green light to go!
Hope everyone is having a good day!

Well, my dad didn't bring the apple pies. Instead he brought a McD's cinnamon roll--yes, I ate it. But I told him that he just needed to bring coffee from now on because I had put on 10 pounds!!!

It's funny what we all do and don't do. I take the steps one at a time. But I took my first shower by myself the day after my surgery while still in the hospital and have every day since then. I just wanted to do it by myself. I did not want a sponge bath or anyone helping me. It reminds me of my grandmother who at 92 didn't want to use a walker because that was for old people!

Kappel,

Where do you live? Your father could bring the apple pies and cinnamon rolls to me.

Just got back from the Dr and WOW!! I got there and they did the whole weight/blood pressure/pulse thing. The nurse said my pulse was extremely high, but I told her I was just anxious as usual! I really do hate going to the Dr. So she's concerned already (last time I was there I was crying hysterically throughout!! haha. darn hormones!!) So I get up to follow her into the exam room and all of a sudden I felt so dizzy and got cold all over and felt like I was going to faint!!! so odd... also, I asked about the patholog reports and she said they were in, but gave me no info so of course I assumed it was bad. Anxiety sooooo high at this point.
Get undressed and up on the table after assuring the nurse i didn't need help undressing and i wasn't going to faint and fall. Dr. examines me which by the way OUCH!! WHY do they have to press so hard????????? That hurt, but he looks at me and basically said that I was healing really well and that not only can I have sex again, but I can pick up my babies!! WAHOOOOOOOOOO

He put me on some sort of hormone patch, which I am not sure I'm going to take, for the night sweats I am experiencing. Ordered some blood work and voila! I have the go ahead!!! He said everything came back fine from the pathology reports, but didn't go into details at all, which I kind of wanted him to do. So I was so excited that I went out to the waiting room where my DH and daughter were waiting and scooped her up and swung her around and then BAM! I start to hurt. WHY did I do that??? Doc said to listen to my body and not do things if it hurts (duh)
So... even though I have the go ahead for the whole sex thing- forget it!! Nothing is going near there for a while. And for the babies, I am going to ease my way into it and start with my 1 yr old~ he's alot lighter!! haha
so back to the patch. I was reading the insert on the way home and saw that it could cause uterine cancer and was saying to my husband that I won't be taking it, then it occured to me- wait a minute. I don't *HAVE* a uterus!! hahahahaha. Does anyone else have any info on this patch. I think it's called vivelle or something like that.
I didn't realize how bad this brain fog was until I got out in the world and started spacing out every few minutes. It was funny to see, I'm sure.
So there is my update!!
Happy healing...

Wonderful for you!!

Congrats Pia!! He didn't give you any details becuz there weren't any!! Thats great!!

I was laughing about the sex thing though, the mere thought is terrifying to me! My DH thinks its 8 weeks Dr said 6 weeks, I like you am taking it the whole distance!! I remember when they took the "packing" (theres a word that makes me shake) out, I was freaking!
I can't even comprehend the Dr doing an internal next week! I better start preparing my brain now!!

You keep up the good work!

The whole sex thing

I agree. I can't even imagine anything going in there right now (including the doctor!). My DH hasn't even mentioned it - he's being so kind and considerate. Even when I snap at him because of these weird hormone fluctuations. My Effexor came in the mail today (75 mg). I'll be starting it tomorrow. I'm sure it will help. I don't have any info about the hormone patch, but you might try WebMD. Are we all ready for Spring?
