To everyone who replied to me, thanks so much, feels good not to be 'alone'. DH is in Sweden on business for a few days, so am 'home alone', glad of all your company girls.
To all those that are baking, can you do it sitting down? it's just that my doc' say's we stand too much and do damage. My mouth however is watering just thinking of all those glorious smells and cakes.
To Summersday, you have my dream dog, I have a 16 year old Collie Cross. He's a fab dog. But eversince I knew dogs I wanted a brother and sister Irish Wolfhound.
Thankyou everyone for caring, I to saw the 'mean post', I for one love the site and have found comfort here...and actually kinda like all the hugs! 's

When I decide to bake, I first get ingredients out, sit down, then I mix the batter, sit down, put in pan and put in oven, set timer, sit again...my oven is very easy to open and I don't have to bend to put things in or take them out.
Wolfhounds are wonderful furkids!! A bit headstrong, but they are so gentle. Reggie used to get distracted by birds when I would take her out to go to the bathroom, would have to bring her back in the house and try later. : Luckily she has now outgrown that!!
I really miss walking her. I do take her out to play..she hands me her frisbee..it is like she knows I cannot bend down. I would have been really depressed if she hadn't been with me the past weeks.

MartyFL, I was in the car as a passanger the day after they cut me loose from the castle. It really didn't bother me much other than to tire me out. (Had to direct Ma to YMCA to pick up 16yr old-dh had to work)Beware, hitting bumps, sharp turns, slamming on brakes, etc will be noticed! I wasn't allowed to fly for 2 weeks out-no matter what.

summersday-an Irish Wolfhound!? We had one that lived behind us here. Rosie was the sweetest dog and one of the largest I have ever seen. She used to come and visit us often until she moved away. Still miss her.

happy now-I've spent the last 2 days on "vacation" with my dh. I had the same kind of feeling so dh took me sightseeing from the car and wouldn't let me walk around. I was in bed willingly after I got home. Hang in there.

Hi Bagpuss, I have my 6 week post op check on the 22nd march. I called the Cons this am to ask if I should go to see him sooner ( I am lucky that I was able to go private, so could see him when ever), but he said he doesn't think that there's any need. He thinks I have a pelvic inflammation! I'm not so sure, but I guess he's seen all this before. He said that I shouldn't even have lifted a full kettle, let alone anything more. No standing for long, and no cooking at all. I guess he will have to do a pelvic exam, but he would do that anyway, he warned me on discharge that he would do that at my post op. I work in a Physio dep't, my colleague (she specialises in womens health) said he wold probably need to do a pelvic exam whilst I was standing, (not too happy with that thought!!!) not a shred of dignity left eh?. I feel fairly lucky as my DH and I are on our own at home, all the kids have gone. So I can at least concentrate on me, I don't have to run round after little ones. I really didn't think that I had done too much, I haven't been far and haven't driven yet. MY DH really has been a 'DH', very caring and attentive, but had to go away early today. He just called to see if I was ok. I haven't told him what I've been told as he would worry. I'll wait 'till he's back home.
Glad of the chat, Many thanks.
Please take care of yourself and thanks for the hug, I was glad of it.

Did anyone here actually believe it would take this long to feel "normal". I'm a quick healer and can't believe how long this is taking. Just when I feel great and like my old self, wham!!! Very frustrating. It snowed here last night and I really want to go cross country skiing, but I know I'll pay for it if I do. I'm going stir crazy.

First of all, hello everyone. Sorry I have been out of touch. I have been trying to keep busy. I have a new video game "Thrillville" which makes me feel productive because I am building theme parks (trust me, this is sometime I usually do not do when I am working), and my photo album project (I am mid 2004 now- I started with beginning of 2003).

I just wanted to concur with this feeling of going backwards in my recovery. I am back to feeling like I did the first week after I got out of surgery.

I have tried to get out 1-2 hours a day, and paid the price this weekend when I lost my driver's license (the actual license, not that I got in trouble and they took it away ) either at Costco on Saturday or Services on Sunday.

So, Monday, it was off to the DMV and later the Police Dept. My DH took me to Cracker Barrel for lunch, but I was so uncomfortable sitting. :confuse:

Ysdy, I went to the mall to pick up "Peter Pan" for the kids and it took me 2 hours in 3 stores ( I am not moving so fast right now).

Last night, I had a parent/teacher conference and was glad at least for semi-normal seats.

Today, for the first time, I took the kids to their respective schools solo because DH had to get to meeting today. Of all days, we had snow last night and it took me 25 minutes to go a distance that usually takes me less than 10. No big deal, unless your stomach feels like it has been punched a few thousand times and you feel like you worked out for 4 hours after not doing so for 4 years. :steer:

So, its back to the recliner for me today.

I have a dentist appt tomorrow. Wish me luck.

Big

Wow, you're doing amazingly well. I have only left the house to visit dr. I'm so jealous of your shopping adventures. My daughter was at the Rockaway Mall last night. When she came home I said show me everything you got, I have to shop through you. Enjoy your rest today. Feel better

Hey neighbor!

Don't be too jealous. I am probably overdoing it and should be taking it easier. I will regret not taking it easier when I get back to work 4 weeks from today.

Hang in there!
