NO garage sale today
We aren't ready and I was SO tired. Woke up at 10:45 this morning and I never sleep that late but the belly is down and I feel better. Hopefully I can convince dh to hang around the house today, I need to do some serious cleaning and bill paying. Seems like all we ever do is go go go.
Hope everyone has a relaxing day...it IS Saturday after all

Hi all,

Just checking in and it seems that the further along with recovery, the less we are on here posting.

Capt Crunch - I am so glad to hear that you were able to make some gain in your situation with your supervisor.

I decided to really pamper myself and had a pedicure yesterday. I also had my hair cut and had it colored today. I haven't used any type of color on my hair in about 7 years because I am allergic to something in the activator. My hair stylist used a rinse on my streaky gray hair. Wow - what an enormous difference - I'm auburn again! When I get my braces off in a few weeks, I'm going to be a whole new person!

Well- going to take the opportunity to take a nap. Hope everyone has a great afternoon.

I'm exhausted. I've got granddaughter here, plus two teens who are driving me NUTS. Little brother called...........i was scared he'd ask me to babysit the 6, 8 and 9 year old kids and thankfully he didn't. I told him i'd like to be on an island ALONE right now. Maybe when the heat breaks I'll feel better. I'm taking the teens to a party, soon............a little brief respite. I try to keep moving. I'm afraid if i sit too long in one spot i'll 'freeze' there!

Later..........hoping you are all having a good afternoon....all of those of you who are resting I said GOOD PLAN!

Happy Weekend! Oh I will start to treasure my weekends now.....worked my first full day at school yesterday! I noticed that at around 12 noon I was exhausted and very sleepy. Somehow I managed to get through the day. My principal walked through and asked how i was feeling and whether or not I needed any help. I thought that was nice, but DH had already helped me set up my class. Anyway, last night and even this morning is when I paid for it. My legs and hips are very achy. But I'm noticing achy legs and hips almost daily now so I'm not sure if its from work or a new symptom. Anyone else experiencing aches and pains from the hips down since surgery? Thank God I slept more last night (about 8 hours).

Hi everyone! Its been a busy week for me at school. Yesterday was my first full day (teacher planning day, no students). It was a long day and I was very tired by midday. But i made it through. I'm noticing something new that I will have to pay attention to: achy legs and hips. Not sure if its muscles, joints, bones or what? but I really feel it when I go from sitting to standing. DH thinks its from going back to work and doing too much. But i dont know. Discharge is getting better.

How is everyone tonight? I see you've been busy Ele. How are you feeling?

Hi everyone

It is so good to hear that everyone seems to be progressing well now, albeit at different levels. I have been pain free for 3 days now, just with twinges but my right leg is still heavy and throbbing, so I guess this does bear out the nerve damage on the right side.

I have been out for meals, out to watch sport and a couple of trips to the mall.

I still cannot contemplate work yet, so am hoping that when I have my 6 week post op appointment on 19th I may get another week off as I know I cannot possibly do 7am - 9pm. Also as I am working in a male dominated Islamic society it isn't easy to say gosh feeling awful must go home early - it just wouldn't work here! So, other than collapsing at my desk and an ambulance called I would be there for the duration!

Today is boiling, so just chilling in the villa, way too hot to do anything.

Take care all of you and I love this website.

Thank you all so much for your support

Hugs xxx

Hi everyone

Hi, Phillipians, and everybody. I'm feeling okay but very very tired out. I think partly it's the weather. And looking at the mess in the house. It all exhausts me. Plus I got about three hours sleep Sat. nite bec. of HUGE storms moving thru. We had more storms early evening yesterday. I'm so lucky our power stayed on. Some people lost their power Sat and won't get it back until MONDAY and that's a huge deal in a big metro area like ours. That is a long time w/no electricity. So I'm thankful.

It's almost 7 a.m. and I have not walked at all. It's cooler out today and so I will wait until little granddaughter awakens so she knows i'm out walking. Teen slept out last nite so it's just the two of us in the house today. Little one is begging to go see 'the simpsons' ... she already saw it once and i'm not a super huge fan but it's supposed to be very funny so MAYbe we will go. Otherwise i will try to rest around here and walk, drink water, watch golf, and 'chill'....

I know i have a lot of prep for school to do. I plan to go into school tomorrow a.m. and possibly tuesday a.m. I have my all day wednesday windows 07 training. Then I will 'chill' here at home Th/Fri. I can't believe it's almost time for it all to begin full time.

I do believe the people who say it can take much longer than 6 weeks to feel normal again. I know I will be exhausted when school starts. And yes, lots of different muscles ache/twinge. My abdominal wall still has one spot where it feels like there is a knot. I wonder if there IS one there or lots of stitches or ?? I will ask the OB on 8/31.

You'd laugh. A drain in the street was plugged by the first set of storms yesterday. My granddaughter and i had a shovel and we were cleaning up/bagging the junk that was clogging it. I kept thinking this better be less than 20 pounds each time she and i used the shovel. And we carried the bag together to the area of our townhouses where leaves/etc. can be dropped off. I feel okay. But I went to bed at about 9 last nite. I was soooooooooo tired.

Okay. This post is too long for ANYone to read. A good Sunday to you all as you continue to heal. Sounds like lots of people went away for the weekend.
