I took my DS for bloodwork this morning and then I went to the gym and slowly walked a mile on the track. I don't have the energy that I need to possibly go back to work next week so I am trying to walk to boost it. I am 5 weeks out today. Boy time flies when you don't have to go to work. My back hurts and I have twinges but otherwise the pain is controlled today. HOpe it stays that way.

What a day this has been...Back to work for only 1/2 day. Did very well until that last 30 min. I was walking like when I came home from the hospital. Every step hurt!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm home and not going anywhere the rest of the day. I'll probably get a nap in as well. I'm beat!!!!!

Afternoon Ladies! I miss all of you too. I have been trying to get back to NORMAL! I've been trying to get the flower beds ready for planting next month. It's been so nice outside as well.

I went to Curves this morning. Now I'm tired! At least I'm exercising.

I go back to work on Saturday. UGH! I like what I do, but I have really liked being off. It's going to be hard to get back into it after being off for 6 wks. I work from 3A-3P 3 days/wk.

I have my 6 wks. checkup on Thursday. I'm going to talk to doc about my whacky hormones and lacking libido. I'm going to have my annual Pap since I still have my cervix.

Denise, it's never too late to change careers. I probably will at some point after all the kiddos are in school.

Have a fabulous day ladies!

Hi ladies! I slept last night thanks to "simply sleep" by tylenol. The pain pills knock me right out to but I dont like to take them unless I have real pain.
My boyfriend took me out for a morning walk which was two miles I may not need help sleeping tonight

Guys
What's up with the not sleeping. I haven't had a full nights sleep since the surgery.

Hot flashes wake me up - more like electric shock under my skin and then the heat.

During the day I get fatigued and right before bed but soon as I get in bed - wide awake.

I've tried over the counter sleep aids - they make me groggy.

I want to go back to work tomorrow but am very nervous it might be too much.

It sounds like it'll take a while before we are 100%

Hi gals
Today I went to my (almost) 6 week checkup, and complained of:

1. insomnia -she said it's from anesthesia and pain pills, will subside, be batient
2. night sweats- she says any number of things could cause them, such as shooting pain or dehydration, be patient
3. swelly belly- could continue for several months, be patient
4. fatigue- you guessed it- BE PATIENT!

She did give me the extra week off that I was all anxious over, because I am so exhausted in the afternoons, that I just don't see how I can juggle work and studying afor the final exam next week all at once.... so that gives me some peace of mind.

Then I studied a bit, and I visited my aunt's clothing store, and she set me up with some new Spring clothes by Tribal- everything has STRETCH so nothing hurts the belly. I should have gone to her first, rather than waste my money on maternity slacks!
She also has Spanx and all kinds of body smoothing undergarments, which are a girl's best friend when squeezing into special occasion dresses (my son's graduation is coming up, I need to find a cute dress that doesn't make me look like a lumpy sausage...

Off to rest now, too much activity today.

I'll be here everyday with bells on! I currently not working so I'll be around. I've been looking for a job but I'm trying to use my degree & no experience so I'm having no luck. I think I'll take the summer off to heal & play with my DD. My plan for the week is to clean, clean, clean. I've been released so I have some housekeeping to catch up on.

I had my 5 week appointment today. I think that God must have a sense of humor but I don't know if I do. I was released for sex, yes I said it sex BUT I have a yeast infection. That is the cause of my strange white stripe & the pain/pressure I've been feeling. So my Dr gave me an extra week of antibiotics for DH. Here is the no sense of humor part my DH said we can't have sex until I'm fully healed so we both enjoy it. I know sweet but hormones going crazy here & I want to! I'm alittle nervous because it could hurt so I'll wait a few more days or a week. However, my exam didn't hurt so there is hope.

My Dr also said I still have my bladder infection so I'm on 2 more antibiotics. If it isn't one thing it's another! I asked Dr about insomnia & he said my body has to adjust to the HRT. I hardly slept last night! I hope it adjust soon.

All restrictions have been lifted so yea I'm going to the gym to tomorrow. I told him that if I do alot of walking that I get crampy & swelly belly he said that is part of the healing to listen to my body & rest when needed. He said at the 3 month mark I won't even notice that I had surgery.

I forgot to ask about the lubrication so hopefully someone else can ask their Dr.

one day at a time

Hey girls,

I've been feeling better, but I still get so tired if I try to do so much - listen to my body!!! I have to watch the tight pants and standing in one place for too long. That's worse than walking. Sitting in one place for too long also isn't very comfortable. Hopefully, I'll sleep through the discomfort on the 9hr flight thursday night. At least I'm not full of concern anymore about how I'll do there. :dance2:

Went to the bank this morning and got some of our traveller's chqs for Italy - $1500 euros cost us $2400 CAD! Yikes. The exchange is wicked - $1=$1.64. Oh well, it's what we've been saving for and worth every penny.

I'm sorry to hear that some of you are having trouble sleeping. That can contribute to sore and aching muscles and foggy brain. Take it easy and rest when you can. If you don't have to do things - leave them. I'm realizing that if it doesn't get done, it's not the end of the world -even those things I thought were so important are not reall as important as my health and healing.

Good to hear your doing better, Debbie! Wecome back.

I'll be on this site when I get back looking for you - so if they move this stream when I 'm gone, I'll find you again! Remember, we can always email each other as well on this site.

Hang in there everyone and continue to "Pamper the Princess."

cya... Kathie

Aw, TunaCat, sorry that it's been so hard for you.
Take it easy and use this week to really rest - mental and emotional rest is just as important - take care of yourself.
