Wow, how fast did that go by?! HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE! Here's to a way healthier and painfree year!
Well its been almost 10 months, and I thought it would be different. I have no sex drive. AT ALL. I still have period like cramps(?), and the adhesions are not going away. I did hear that cortisone helps. Maybe it could shrink the fat tissue too:P I think I am going to try that. I can still feel like I am ovulating. I still have the right ovary. Anyone feel this? Oh well. I have 4 months to get back into shape and look good before some old friends come out. So Exciting! Other than the whinning above things are good. No hot flashes anymore, sleeping great, very healthy appatite, and energy!! Just the same cramps and pulling. Anyhoo, I am not going to let this rule anymore! This is my year!!!! WOOHOO! Girls rule! CHEERS! & HUGS!

I think my new Dr from Sept has finally found the right balance for my HRT. My DH and DD are very happy that I'm not some crazy women on Thurs night. It was like clock work and this patch is very small which is great when it comes time to rip it off! I'm so HAPPY to not have periods anymore, how about you all? Ahh, freedom Hope all is well with everyone.

Shelly,
How did you or your dr know you had adhesions?I have already had sugery for adhesions and 2 drs tell me they have not grown back and also that they do not cause pain. I am in pain and the same pain I felt before my adhesion surgery. Again how did you know? thanks
Helen

I've had lots of surgeries due to adhesions and I've almost always had to be firm with my Drs. I've heard that before that they shouldn't come back and they are not painful. When they ARE very painful! I had that all familiar burning, pulling feeling. My new Dr is a specialist with adhesions and complications from hysters so he understood my pain when I told him about it. But to rule out other causes I had to have some tests done, like a colonoscopy, ultrasound & xrays to see if my ovaries grew back (which they didn't). Adhesions do not show up on any tests the only real way to find them is to have a lap. Although it is a catch 22 a lap is both the cause and the cure Adhesions form from abdominal surgeries. There are products out there that they can use to help prevent or slow down the adhesions from forming again. My last Dr used them but the last few weeks I've started to feel that same pulling feeling. I'm waiting until I can't stand it anymore before I go back to the Dr. I told him a few months after my surgery and he said I might have to have it again but he didn't feel that I would have as many as I did before. I really hope you find a Dr who will listen to you. You know your body and know if something is wrong. Please let me know what happens. I'll try to check back here more often.

Thanks for your reply and it does not matter how long it took to reply because things never change for me. I am sent to one dr after another suffer though tests that I think are pointless, xray and MRI of my spine,etc... I am still in pain, still sure that I have adhesions pulling me apart but no answers. I have an appointment march 10 in Boston that I have waited 2 months for and maybe when I get away from these country bumpkins I will get some answers. In the mean time I have gone to a Chinese dr who has helped ALOT and thinks she can fix me in 4 or 5 visits. We will see, I have more faith in her now than anyone. It is almost a year now for us and I have not had a single second without pain except these last 2 weeks with my Chinese dr. I even had to find a dr in Boston myself because my dr wont give me a referral. I am so sick of them all.

I'm sorry to hear that. I also hope this Dr will help you! Don't take NO for an answer. Tell him/her that you think it is adhesions and your other test results should help rule out other causes. What has this Chinese Dr been doing for you? I'm starting to feel some pain again from adhesions and if there is another choice besides surgery I am willing to try it! I can't keep running to the Dr's to have surgery every 6 months Best of luck please let me know how your doing.

I am experiencing similar things on my end too. I have been having pain since the surgery and have changed doctors since. I have pain every month at the same time each month and I still feel like I get my period. The pain starts at my lower back, like I am being squeezed in a vise. Then I get shock like pain in the vaginal area which sometimes feels like I am being pinched really hard. I also get pretty bad pain above the scar and the whole area gets super hard and very tender (and I am still swollen on the right side). I am currently on Depo Provera to stop the lone ovary from functioning but it isn't working because I experience the same symptom every month always around the middle of the month. Because of this I now have menopause issues with insomnia, hot flashes, etc. My DR says that there is really no other drug for me because my system rejects them all. The only "option" is Lupron but I cannot afford $450.00 per month just to see if that works. She says also that she doesn't want surgery for a few reasons; one being that surgery just causes more scarring.

In all of this I am confused because I don't truly know the difference between the adhesions and endo. DR also said that it could be possible that there are adhesions on the bowels. Is there some distinction in the way each one feels? I'm just trying to better understand what is going on.

Shelly,
My Chinese dr. does acupressure, acupuncture, and something called gua sha. It is the gua sha that really helps, it hurts but I am so much better after. You must go to a chinese dr. NOT an American that has studied this stuff. The chinese have been doing this for 4 thousand years and it is in their blood. Are you near any kind of China Town? I am going to this dr. that is in Ohio, and I live in MA.!!Did you have a bikini cut? I did and my Chinese dr. says that is very bad. My mother did not and she never had these problems. I see your are in col. maybe in denver

I've had 4 surgeries to break down adhesions. My last one was in Sept due to adhesions from my hyster in March. They had attached my bowl to my adominal wall. In my case I've noticed that adesions seem to feel like a pulling and burning sensation. Nothing seems to help with the pain (at least over the counter pain meds and who wants to keep taking the strong ones the Dr prescribes?) Also seems like I can't lay on my stomach and it hurt when I do cetain movements. I didn't have this when I had my endo implants. I hope you feel better I understand this road we are on-it stinks! I'm starting to feel that same adhesion pain again...there is no hope for me!

No I had 4 incisions not a bikini cut. Seems like adhesions form no matter the size of the scar. I live in Colo Springs, I think my friend goes to a Chinese Dr for acupuncture on her foot. I think I'll give her a call. I'm willing to try just about anything at this point! Hey have you heard of pelvic floor therapy? Wonder if that helps with adhesions? I can't believe that it has been a year already sure wish we were having all these problems
