Could be the patch or pill form. I was on the patch but now my Dr wants to try the pill form. He gave me some premarian samples. I wanted to see if anyone knows about this (premarian). Glad to hear you made it through work-yea!

Dr said something of .62 so we could go up or down in dose. I wonder how you would know if it is too much?

Premarin

Dr. put me on Premarin 2 days after surgery (.9mg) My question is---How do I know if that is right for me? I don't really know what to look for. We talked about it before surgery and he told me I would need to take estrogen for short term. I asked how long is short term? He said 7-8 years. That's forever to me....I"ll turn the big 50 in Sept. I''m going to ask some questions when I visit post-op (4/11). Back to the Premarin...I don't know if it is doing what it is supposed to do or not. I have a hot flash or 2...doesn't last very long and I have those up and down emotional days as well. Have been on Premarin for 16 days.

Before surgery I was having mild hot flashes (beginning to come more frequently), insomnia(couldn't stay asleep--fall asleep easily, wake up between 2-3 a.m. and many nights never go back to sleep), irritable and moody all day(I thought from lack of sleep). He said he also wanted to keep the bones strong. I didn't really question him much, but I will. He knows me too well.

Yeah....good for you. What do you do? Just curious.

I did pretty well today, too. I'm not dressed but I did straighten up my room, straightened up the bathroom, doing two loads of laundry, sorted my mail basket, put my purse back together, and mostly just pitter-pattered around to keep myself out of bed. Tomorrow I have an appointment to get my hair done at 1:00. I'll take an 800 mg. ibuprofen before I go. I only sat about an hour at the nail salon the other day and it killed my bottom. I think I felt every stitch.

Anyway.....feeling the strain on my bottom so aside from finishing the laundry, I'm done for the day.

I've been the Climara patch since the day of my surgery. I'm hoping that Premarin 1.25 mg doesn't give me the same side effects the generic patch did. He wants me to try it and we'll talk about it on my next appt at the end of April. My Dr confirmed that I was having hot flashes. I thought you had to sweat with it but he said no you don't. Speaking of hot flashes it sure is "HOT" in here! LOL

What side effects are you having, if you don't mind my asking? He gave me a choice of patch or pill. I chose the pill, because a friend's sister had a horrible time with the patch, I guess toward the end of it, with the mood swings and such. I didn't need that headache. My family would disown me. Maybe I want to try something natural....We'll see.
