3 years post hysterectomy and penis still can’t go in all the way

I’m so dang frustrated. We are over three years post hysterectomy and my husband still can insert is penis all the way. In fact, it’s barely half way. When we are intimate it’s so painful and feel like he’s hitting a “wall” inside of me. He just pounds that wall block with each thrust and it hurts so bad. Doctor said everything looks normal. I believe I have major vaginas shortening. I’ve started hormone scream, dilators, and pelvic floor therapy. So far I haven’t seen any difference. Please tell me if you had this problem and it were able to stretch the “wall” to fit your husband normally. I don’t want another surgery to fix this. I’ve had 18 pelvic surgeries.

Re: 3 years post hysterectomy and penis still can’t go in all the way

We're sorry that you're having problems this far post-op, but hope you will find information and support from women who can relate! I know there are members who have experience to share with you so hopefully they will be along to reply.

Meanwhile, there are articles within this resource you can browse through that may help. It sounds like you are on the right treatment track and hopefully you will start noticing results from that approach. As for your vagina being shortened, unless you had a radical hysterectomy there should be little to no shortening at all, as explained here. You might want to seek out another medical opinion, if you haven't already done so, to see if another doctor agrees that everything looks normal.

Re: 3 years post hysterectomy and penis still can’t go in all the way

Hi Disneyma,
I just came across your post and wondered how you are getting on and if you have found any solutions. I have just started seeing someone new. I am 2 1/2 years post op. I didn't have any issues with my previous partner but my new partner is better endowed (sorry I hope that doesn't sound crass) and OW!! I too feel like he is hitting up against a wall. Any tips would be much appreciated.

Re: 3 years post hysterectomy and penis still can’t go in all the way

Three months into the new relationship and I feel like my vagina is stretching as it is not so painful anymore. In fact I now find I orgasm from penetration which I have never done before. The downside being that I feel less stimulation from clitoral stimulation. Clitoral orgasms were more intense so feel a bit disappointed but at least it doesn't hurt like it used to. I guess your body is forever changed after this op and honestly I wouldn't change it if I could. This op has been the best thing ever for giving me back my life after so many years of heavy constant bleeding. I am just grateful for what the op has given me and have learnt to accept the other things - including my ugly saggy belly.

3 years post hysterectomy and penis still can’t go in all the way

I just came across this post and i too am having problems with penetration. 9 months post op, vag hysterectomy ovaries left in. My husband is long and my vagina will only take 1/2 of his penis
Orgasm is not at all the same, I guess i was one of those women that had deep uterine contractions. I used to get tingly in my vagina even by the idea of sex and now I feel nothing. I used to have orgasms in my sleep and those are gone and my clitoral orgasm is very hard to achieve and is more like a sneeze that hits by suprise and is over in 2 seconds.
I am devistated, depressed and angry I was not told this could happen.
I cross my fingers I will stretch enough that my husband will once again fit his entire penis.
