New to site-looking for support
A dear friend gave me this link to explore because I'm finally at the end of a long battle with Endometriosis. (Stage IV) I'm not married but have always wanted children. (I do have an understanding boyfriend-thank God) After my 3rd Lap, 2 years ago, my RE told me that it was now or never. So, I started ttc with donor sperm and IUIs. (And lots of drugs) 2 years later, I'm not pg and 41 years old. He wants to do a Hysterectomy soon. (My Ob/gyn told me I needed a H after surgery in 2000!!) Although my RE did say if I want to put it off I'll need another Lap because my Endo is so bad. I take Vicodin every month to get me through the horrible cramps. So....here I am.
I have to give him my decision on August 1st. I'm hoping he will let me put off the H until the end of winter. I can't even imagine going this at all much less having to deal with it and the winter blues! Ughhhhh
So, I'm here to get answers and hopefully for support.
I used the RESOLVE site to help me through the pain and agony and questions of infertility and it was a gift from Heaven. I'm hoping I'll find the same gift here.

Hi roseyCat and
It sounds like you have been through a lot in recent years, and that's too bad. However, you certainly have come to the right place for support and unlimited cyber-hugs from the members, as you begin your journey to good health!
Enjoy exploring the site and making friends!

Welcome
Welcome RoseyKat. I am sorry to read about your difficulties. I had a TAH on June 12th and am almost 6 weeks out. I feel great and for me it was absolutely the best thing. I wish I had done it years ago. I am 47 and had suffered for about 8 years before making my decision. Well, being forced to make a decision. I wish you well on your choice, whichever you choose. I just thought you might want to know from someone who has already had one that it was the right thing for me. Everyone is different, though. Only you can decide.

Hi RoseyKat,
I don't know if you feel like reading a long saga here. Someone posted the question to me one day "why were you a gyno nightmare always?", so I took the time and answered in avery long post. I don't know if this will help you or make you feel worse. I too had endo and very Gyn visit for last 5 years ended in the same way. Doc said Hysterectomy.
I too went thru the fertility route briefly but didn't really touch on that in my story. (actually I forgot about that when origiannly writing, reading your post reminded me) I abandoned fertility help super fast due to the expense. I am very very sorry that you didn't have the children you planned on, that is so sad. Maybe there is a higher powered reason for that. My heart goes out to you at this really difficult time.
Sorry about all the typos, I just noticed now how many I made.
What I am referring to in my signature of Gyno Nightmare Always can be found on this thread:

That's why this site is here. We all just hang together and do as much as possible to support each other. There is always someone who can relate to what someone else is going through. I am just amazed at this place. There should be more places like this to deal with other issues that people face in life. We discuss alot of things other than hyst here, but if someone was not facing a hyst or just had one they would never look here for support. So welcome to you and glad you found us.

I found this site around a year ago and it has been great for me. It has really helped me alot before my TAH/BSO and also after it.
I'm glad it is helping you also.
I agree there should be more sites like this one to help people with the problems that occur during everyday life. I think they could be helpful.
