Looking for August sisters

I'm here, I'm here! Found out three days ago that I'm having TVH August 13. Ordered my HysterSister book that day, and I'm hoping it comes in time. I feel like backing out most of the time, but if I have many more of those clot-dropping, bleed-out, I feel like I'm going to faint periods, I may actually pass out somewhere in public! My surgery is at 12:45 noon, and I'm in Canada.

More August sisters Youpi!

Welcome to the latest bunch of August sisters.

Beachblonde, you are twins with Angel4 and Kaylamarie.

Slb, Hey! neigbord how far from Que. are you? I live near Mtl.

PamIam, you are twins with Funshine and Zorberella.

I am starting to feel like :hair: Oh no! this is only 3 weeks away. I have so many things to do and now my dh has decided we are going camping with the kids (teens), a week before surgery. I am organized, I will be o.k. but at this point surgery will look like a vacation to me

Take care,

August Sister too

Pending confirmation from the Drs. office tentative date is set for August 31st. Both my Drs. are available on that date.

I guess it's just the insurance approval and scheduling with the hospital. They said I should know more by Tuesday.

I've been so worried about work (we're self-employed) and making sure that all that stuff is taken care of, that I sort of forgot about me until I read some of the posts.

So I've printed out some of the lists and need to get busy on getting myself ready for this.

I've spent so much energy trying to avoid this surgery for three years, that I'm feeling like I've failed somehow in agreeing to this surgery.

My brain can think up more things to worry about. I can really relate to Funshine. I'm almost 53 and had hoped that Mother Nature would kick in with menopause and the fibroids would shrink and stop bothering me. But I guess not.

Need to get back to my life. I'm trying to focus on playing with my grandkids and not worrying about will I be able to travel.

Thanks to all that run the boards, and all the wonderful Sister out there helping each other. I don't think I'll get through this with out you.

Prayers to you all. (New to board, still haven't figured it all out)

Hi kitkat76 - I live about an hour away from Toronto, so not really close to Montreal, although my daughter went on a school trip there last year!

Looking for August sisters

Good Morning All:

22 days until my surgery & I am getting really scared. DH is being very supportive & so kind. That is a little weird too.

We talked with his family last night - they live on the east coast & we're in CA - they send their love & prayers.

I think this waiting part is the hardest.

Tomorrow is my ultra-sound at the hospital. Then my pre-op visit is on the 8th.

I got the Sisters cover-up & wore it last night. It's very comfy.

Well I gotta go to work

Later

Looking forward to feeling better!

Only 24 days till I get my crown everyone! Thinking of you all who have upcoming dates at the castle! Hugs to everyone for all the help and support!!

I already know that I will end up have the hyst. I have been like this for a year know and symptoms seem to get worse as time goes by. I am starting to skip periods something I have never had a problem with unless there was something in the oven. My said he will try to save what can be saved meaning ovaries but there is a change they are gone. I am only 32 with to boys not planning to have more but I don't think I am ready for the other changes that awaits me.

Another August Sister

Hi Sisters!
I am scheduled for a Tah/Bso on August 7th... Not that far away! I'm a bit scared but I have family coming in this Friday of this week, so that will keep my mind off of the pending surgery.

Looking for August sisters

Last night while lying in be with my husband, weird things started going through my head. I started thinking "I'm getting old". I'm only 35 but I feel because I am having a hysterectomy, I am getting old. I always heard of "older" ladies having hysterectomies and all that goes with it. My surgery is set up for August 15th. I hope that I get over this silliness!! After all, as my husband says, age is just a number (he's 14 years older than me) it's what you get out of life that counts.

Looking for August sisters

Zorbella!!!!
I know how you feel girl! The day after I had my uterus crying jag, I too, felt like I was all of a sudden getting old before my time! At only 38 I am far from old! I keep telling myself that I will feel better after all this and will be able to do all the things I have left to do in this life! YOu are not old!! And your hubby is right! My hubby says the same thing-- you are as old as you feel and it is only a number. I still feel pretty much like I did at the age of 20--except all this crummy female stuff going on! You will be okay! I know we are all feeling all these weird things! Keep thinking how much better you will feel after the surgery! Only 3 weeks and a day for us now!

Take care,
Funshine
