Emotional support- Daughter's Wedding

I have a little situation I'm in search for understanding on and would appreciate some insight from other moms. Dd just got married and while processing the wedding stuff in our garage ( separating what goes back to who ) my husband tells me he's so glad it's all over, which I get. Then he tells me," my dd has come to him 25 times in 2 months and said shed rather have had a destination wedding or courthouse wedding." As I'm basking in the blessings of the event. Feeling grateful to God that it all went well and you know, just the joy of the celebration. I told him I told her , it's whatever she wanted. I asked him, when he's complaining about processing the stuff," Does he not think a destination wedding would have also had stress and expense ?" He didn't say much. Just said he was trying to keep us both happy and it's her day. I feel a bit kicked to the curb today for a girl who didn't want a nice wedding, she sure went into alot of detail for the event and seemed to enjoy herself alot. I thought all went well except for a few small glitches. I told him that made me feel bad about what he told me. He said, " well I'm just telling you the truth ! What do you want me to do, sugarcoat it !!!!"

I just cried.

Anyway a wedding is stressful, I'm just feeling really down about it all right now. When she said she wanted a courthouse wedding I just said to her, I just don't want you to regret it one day. I told her however, i support her in whatever she wanted. And I meant it.

My question now, what good did it do to tell me that know ? After she put full plans in place for a dinner and dance, etc.

I guess I just wanted an understanding shoulder and husband fell asleep on me while talking about this last nite. I woke up w my stomach in knots, trying to process w no warmth or comfort from my husband.

Just feeling a bit frustrated right now and sad about how to move forward and joyously.

Also the wedding was extremely economical with lotsa favors and donations of services from friends and families. The bride and groom also took on some expenses as well. We all kinda split it up.

Thanks sisters for any support, feeling really alone right now.....and my eyes are swollen from crying.

Thx for any words of encouragement. This is my only daughter. First time to go thru any of this

I want to be clear that I encouraged the couple to do what they wanted. Then later received a phone call that they had chosen a hall and put plans in place.
