Robot Assisted TVH/BSO When can you drive?

I was wondering when the doctor will let me drive again after surgery. I have heard that it is a couple of weeks with the abdominal surgery, but I was wondering how long it will be with the Da Vinci/Robot surgery. My surgery is tomorrow and I was wondering if I should take a nice drive tonight.

Robot Assisted TVH/BSO When can you drive?

I had a LAVH and doctor released me to drive a 1 1/2 weeks. Think she just wanted to make sure that I was off the pain meds and feeling okay.

I had the daVinci, my gyn/onc told me no driving for two weeks. I'm still not driving, almost 3 weeks out, because of lymphedema swelling and taking pain med's. I think it may vary by doc, and of course, complications, if any. Hope your hyst goes without a hitch!

Robot Assisted TVH/BSO When can you drive?

I'm undergoing Da Vinci LSH on 3/12/09 and at my pre-op consult last week my doctor said I would be able to drive 2-3 days post-op as long as I'm off pain meds.

Robot Assisted TVH/BSO When can you drive?

I had LATVH and Dr. said no driving until I came for my 2 week post op appt. I'd call and ask the Dr. what he/she advises just to be safe.

In my personal opinion...if someone was to stop short in front of me, and me or another driver had to hit the breaks??? that could really put pressure where you don't want any and that might really hurt. Unfortunately you can never second guess someone elses driving...that's why they are called accidents. Just my thinking.

Robot Assisted TVH/BSO When can you drive?

I had a RALH, and my doctor told me one week to drive. I am 10 days out, and I definitely could have driven at one week, and I will be doing it for the first time tomorrow. The da Vinci is great, I have no pain at all for the last couple days, but definitely lots of fatigue from all the healing.
