Bookah - You must have been posting at the same time as I was. I am so sorry you have to go through all this. I know you have been through a lot. That really stinks (I did not want to be censored again lol) that you have to stick with this gp. Is there any way of just sitting down and talking to him and telling him how you feel and how worried you are that it could be cancer and that you just want the best treatment. Use the line that wouldn't he want the best if it was a member of his family - I really don't understand what is the big deal with these drs to write the approval to go to the specialist. What the he-- does he care. As I said I will say a prayer for you.

Hey y'all! Hope everyone is doing well! Quick question. How do you get the first set of earrings out? My dd got her ears pierced 6 weeks ago and I cannot get the dumb things out. They are the ones that lock on and I was wondering if there is a trick to opening them! Her first dance recital is this weekend and we got earrings that match her costume! It is too cute to watch 13 3-4 yr olds "dancing"!! Any suggestions would be very appreciated! Thanks, Elizabeth

Elizabeth,

The only hint I have for you if you haven't tried already, is to put one hand in front and one on the back and just pull. The backs are hard to get off of the starter earrings. I have always just had to pull really hard to get them off. Hope this helps. Good luck!

From what I remember those "lock on" earring ARE tough to get out.... you have to pull really hard, which is tough to do when an ear is attached to them! Do they have a center post that you can push in and THEN pull? I have a pair of ruby earrings like that. They lock but you can "unlock" them. Otherwise I think its something someone other than your DD would have to do... hold tight to the front, hold tight to the back and YANK! Ouch!

It is going to be hard to get them off. Make sure you twist them first so if there is any gunk holding it together it breaks loose. Then you just have to pull really hard. Good luck.

Elizabeth - Can you call the dr or the place where she got them and ask if there is a special way that they know of to get them off. Good luck.

June, I'm glad your move went well. I finally got a broadband connection last week so the pain of using dial-up is still fresh in my mind...like watching paint dry.

Nan, I'm sorry I missed you last night. I stayed on for about an hour after I typed my last post and then figured you had gone back to bed. It's too bad that you're having so much pain in your legs and back. I sure do hope those shots work for you. Are you having cortizone injections?

I was so tired yesterday after working all day and then going bowling that I slept until 10:30 this morning. I got up and fed the cats and it was so dark and rainy that I decided to pamper myself and watch old movies in bed. "Now Voyager" was on...one of my favorites.

I got my hair cut this afternoon. I told her to take just a little off the front and bump the back up a little more. It ended up being way too short in the front which I'm more than a little ticked off about. It was almost shoulder length and now it's about even with my chin. Next time I guess I'll have to be way more specific. Anyway, I went shopping after and had pretty good luck. I found a couple of prs. of dress slacks and some cute Dansko wedge sandles. If you want to see them go to the Dansko sight and look for the "Neve" sandals.

Bookah, I wish you could dump your GP but understand your reasons for keeping him. I agree with Nan about having a heart to heart with him about your concerns. It just doesn't seem right that he won't refer you to the kind of specialist you prefer. Good luck.

Hugs to all.
Laura
