Re: pre op 2 weeks what do i need to know?
I also had a da Vinci and had a good experience. I was NOT however, ready to back to work in 2 1/2 - 3 weeks as my doc had indicated. I was well-healed, but not recovered. It is still major surgery and you will feel the effects of the anesthesia and the general shock to your system just like with a traditional surgery. The big difference is you don't have the terrible incision pain. Line up your helpers, stock up on groceries (especially the heavy stuff, you will have lifting restrictions). I was up and walking the same day and went home 24 hours after surgery, but was very tired and felt like my feet were lead. Expect to rest a lot, but try to do gentle activity in between rest periods. Good luck!
