new and confused

Hi there! I'm way new at this, so please bear with my computer ignorance. I've had problems with bleeding, spotting, and pain for the last 15 years. DH and I are almost (10/1) empty nesters and it just might be time to deal with Momma. I've had five large babies with fourth degree tears and episiotomies each time (and yet I kept coming back!) and have had a miserable time with menopause--I mean bleeding, cramps, hot flashes, and memory issues all at the same time just doesn't seem right. My uterus is enlarged and tender and the dr. suspects adenomyosis. I suppose I could live with that, but then she threw in rectocele repair and suddenly a hyst became pretty appealing. I'm 53 and keep thinking if I only hang in there a little longer.... I'm really getting worn out though. I guess what I'm looking for are some thought of others that hve dealt with these issues. Welcome to HysterSisters Perhaps your decisions would be clearer if you pursue another medical opinion. I had 3 different opinions... doc #2 had much more cutting & pasting in mind for me than doc #3.

Ultimately, only YOU must live with your pre-op smptoms AND your post-op results, good OR bad. Get smart about your symptoms and your options, and make the right choice for YOU.
