For those still in doubt, from a new princess

Hi all LIW -

I just wanted to pass on my thoughts from recent surgery.

I had set the surg date of 7/27 in May w/ my doc. So I had alot of time to think and worry if this was the right thing to do. I knew I had fibroids largest at 6cm. Regular peroids but very heavy and clotty. We watched and waited for 3 yrs and tried the pill to curb symptoms. Any way last Tues I was still on the fence if this was right for me. I trust my doc very much. So when I woke from a TAH I found out that I also had to have the left ovary due to a cyst that we did not know about. She said the uterus was very 'boggy' and the surgical nurse who turned out to be a friend of my sister told my sister that it was quite a nasty looking uterus. Anyway I was very releaved to know this was the correct decision.

6days post op and feeling pretty good. Thank God for the best family (even the inlaws are good).
I have about 8 weeks off work so I will have alot of time to take my time and recover. Good Luck to you all - see ya on the other side.

Glad you are home and doing well. I'm scheduled for 9/13 but keep thinking I'll postpone. DH has told me that I am NOT canceling - He's ready for "the other side".

I know I'll be glad when it's over and hearing from all the sisters, just confirms this.

Thanks,

connie
