surgery in 2 weeks

I am 34 and I am having an abdominal hysterectomy done on Oct 16, due to fibroids. They are leaving my ovaries and tubes, due to my age. I have been on my period for almost 2 years straight now with only a few days reprieve each month. My doctor has tried a few different forms of the pill and an IUD in hopes of shrinking the fibroid and controlling Aunt Flos visits, but nothing worked. My fibroids are very small compared to some I have heard about but they are causing a lot of grief. A year ago I started hemorrhaging after the IUD was removed. It was controlled through my doctor. But in that moment I accepted that this was probably going to be the end result. I am now hemorrhaging at least 1 day a week. My surgeon removed fibroids in March of this year in hopes that things would return to normal, but by the end of April I was back at square one. In July I made the decision myself and told my surgeon I was done and asked for the hysterectomy. He has done his due diligence and asked if I am sure and if I have donr the research etc. He even offered to get me a 2nd opinion. I trust my surgeon and told him I am sure. At this point for me personally the pros are going to way outweigh the cons. I can't wait to get it over with and am actually more worried about the recovery then the surgery itself. He says he can do it with only a 10cm incision on the bikini line.

Good luck! I had my ovaries removed abdominally last Monday, 9-23. I'm not very good with pain, to say the least I'm miserable. Walk as much as possible.
