Had my Dr's appt today...now it's a waiting game.

I went to the Dr's today to discuss my options. I just found out I have several fibroids with one the size of 5 cm. I also suffer from heavy, clot like periods & now they last 12-14 days AND I'm on the pill (go figure). I don't breakthrough between periods & the heaviness is only the first few days of my period. I don't have pain or other problems that I read about when having fibroids. Now back in Dec. of 2002 I had an Abalation & thought that was wonderful in calming my heavy bleeding but soon it return. I have also had my tubes tied back in '97 after the birth of my son. I went to the doctors with the attitude of "I'm tired of living my life around my period!!" I had to scedule vacations around it, put a towel on the bed when I slept at night. I had period underwear & certain clothes I'd wear only when it was that time. Had to make sure if I did go somewhere I could get to the bathroom fast. Walked around knock-knee & dreaded coughing, laughing, sneezing & getting in & out of the car. So today was my day to handle this problem. Did biopsies on fibroids, so waiting to get those results & Dr put in for surgical consult, so this is where the waiting game begins.... Not sure which procedure but I will probably leave my ovaries (unless there's something wrong with them). Very optimistic & can't wait for the results. Keep your fingers crossed for good news!!

Sounds like the last thing you want to do is wait anymore. I pray that the time will go quickly and you will get relief.

Good luck with the results and pray and hope you get a date soon. I have found like many others that your surgery is the only thing on your mind from now on...all day and night. I've also found by reading on here that this is quite normal. I'll be looking out for your posts.

Boy, you are not kidding. When the phone rings I think it's them letting me about the surgery. Also like another Princess on this site mention, I talk about Hystersisters like it's my best friend. My family is like..."you found out all this info in that short of time just by one website?" and I reply 'YES I DID!!".
