progesterone, PCOS, hyperplasia, bladder lift questions, reassurance, etc

3 wks ago I had a D&C due to bleeding for a month and a half and lining was 2cm from the estrogen dominance. I was told the other day that I have uterine hyperplasia (not sure of the type. I am waiting on reply back but know that there are pre-cancerous cells). I also have PCOS. My Dr is letting me decide which two options I want to do:

1) 3 months of oral medroxyprogesterone 10mg daily then a sonogram to check lining and biopsy. Repeat if necessary.

2) partial hysterectomy leaving the tubes and ovaries and taking uterus and cervix.

My thoughts: due to having PCOS my chances of getting cancer is higher. I don't want to live my life worrying about it so take it out. I don't want to do this progesterone thing every day (it's only been 2 days on progesterone and I already feel my uterus feeling 'heavy' and uncomfortable and I'm not really understanding WHY I need to take it every day for 3 months when I thought the objective with to prevent a thicker lining, not increase it but that's what the progesterone is doing. Confused), nor do I want to go through the vag sonos and in-office biopsies, plus I don't know how many times I'd have to do all that through my life. No thanks. And again, I don't want to live my life worrying about it.

However, I'm reading in other forums on here how many have regretted getting their hystos because of 'side effects' such as little or no orgasms, sex drive ( I don't really have one anyway so no biggie but when we do I want that deep orgasm so I'm afraid I'll lose that), depression after hysto, hot flashes, pelvic floor prolapse, and a bunch of other stuff.

So basically, I don't know anymore. I know I'm lucky to have this choice, there are some women who don't get to. Is my reason to remove it so that I don't have to worry about getting full on cancer a good enough one compared to #1? ugh, I don't know! I scheduled the hysto for Nov 19th but can cancel if I change my mind.

Also, I got a bladder sling 3 yrs ago. I'm worried that it will get messed up. (I'll be getting a DaVinci hysto) Is the bladder affected at all after a hysterectomy? I need to remind my gyn again that it only holds 9 oz max and I DO NOT want to wake up from anesthesia again having to pee so bad it's painful! I don't understand why that happened after my D&C.

Thanks for reading. Any help, suggestions, reassurance is appreciated!

Re: progesterone, PCOS, hyperplasia, bladder lift questions, reassurance, etc

I have (had) complex hyperplasia w atypia so advanced they couldn't rule out cancer. At best it was precancer, at worst cancer. I chose a d&c and the mirena IUD for progesterone to be localized not systemic. This was17 mos ago. My gyn-onc said it could take up to 9 mos to reverse, but it reversed immediately. I had biopsies every 3 mos then every 6. My lining is so thin now that they can't get tissue during the biopsy so I will be monitored via ultrasound (as long as my lining is thin I'm good). I like the IUD because I don't experience the progesterone side effects that are common with pills. I too was diagnosed w PCOS several years prior. As long as there is progesterone strong enough to counter my estrogen I will be fine. I can always have the surgery later if I change my mind. But this isn't for everyone. I'm not a worrier so I don't dwell on what could've been or may be in the future. I'm just gonna enjoy my orgasms now while I can
