Positive return to intimacy

Hi Everyone:
I dont post often, but I read everything. The fact that no one is having good sex after a hysterectomey really had me worried because before it was really great. I had every thing removed so I have a vaginal cuff. I also had a bladder sling at the same time. My doc told me that my brain had to learn to use my bladder again since it is in a different position now. I had several accidents but now every thing is working fine. Taking that information of the need to retrain the brain after having bladder surgery, I applied it to sex. At 6 weeks when the doc said it was ok to have sex, I used a vibrator to have an orgazim, it took forever and was not even good. I also used it in my vagina, but was able to insert it only about 1 inch without a lot of pain. I repeated this every 3 or 4 days untill I was responding good and not having pain in my vagina . After 2 weeks every thing worked fine. I had sex with my husband last night for the first time and it was very good. AND MY HUSBAND LOVED IT. I think our altered bodies just need to learn to respond again.

I am so glad to read your post, I am only entering my 3rd week and oh my god my desires for my DH are very strong. So I am counting down the days lol, but I am afraid, especially after reading some of the posts. Did you desire the DH before your release?

After about week 4 I started to have little twitches down there, so by 8 weeks I was ready to go. Just dont get in a hurry and do what you need to do to besure every thing is working right and it will be so much better for you and your partner. If I had sex at 6 weeks it would have been a disaster and very painful.

By they way I'm 63 years old.

I am so glad to hear I am not the only happy flower LOL, the good thing is even If I wanted to be impatient the DH wouldn't participate. He keeps saying "your only going to get this one chance to recover right, or pay for a long time". I have not told him that when he holds me my thoughts are a racing, because it helps me sleep. But I thought it was odd to feel this way. Thank you for your imput. I am 43 and had the LAVH on 1/16/08, and DH has been great never lets me do anything that may hurt me.

I'm glad everything worked out well for you. My 6 week checkup is in two weeks and I am so afraid to be cleared for sex too. The stories that I've read has made not want to. Although, I told my husband that he has to get his "shot" off before we do anything because he may hurt me when it's time.

What a wonderful post, Sundoll. I love the fact that you are my age too.

I wanted to join in and let others know that sex can be just as good and rewarding. My husband says it feels a lot better and now I can't keep him away!

My experience is also fantastic and it's now fantastic and more frequent
Just be patient and don't expect miracles straight away!
