Getting back to my waterbed post-op?

Does any one know how long it will be before I can get back to sleeping in my waterbed after surgery? I only have the option of sleeping on the sofa or my waterbed. I prefer the waterbed, but do not think I will be able to get out of it right after surgery!! How long before I can go back to sleeping in my wonderful waterbed??

Getting back to my waterbed post-op?

I don't know what type of waterbed you have, but I was able to come home from the castle and sleep on the waterbed that night. I had to kind of learn how to roll over and sit up to get off of it but it was definitely the most comfortable place for me to .

Good luck to you --

Getting back to my waterbed post-op?

Hi Patty

I've been sleeping in our waterbed since the day I got home from the castle, except for when my husband snores so badly that I move to the spare bedroom and sleep on the futon. :hair:

The best way to get up from any lying down position is to roll onto your side (you may want to hold a small pillow to your tummy while doing this), then push yourself up with your arms, swing your legs around, and you should be sitting up.

Best of luck to you

Getting back to my waterbed post-op?

I slept on my pull-out sofa for the first few days after I came home. It would have been too difficult to get out of my waterbed so I didn't want to strain myself. After a few nights on the pull-out, I was able to go back to the waterbed (with lots of pillows LOL - funny thing is, a year later, I'm STILL using lots of pillows because I got used to them and loved them!) and I was able to get out just fine, even though I was a little slow.

Getting back to my waterbed post-op?

Thank you for your responses. My hubby, who had major stomach surgery in 2000, reminded me he was able to sleep in water bed first day home. He said to wake him if I needed to go to bathroom or neede anything in the middle of the night, afterall, he said, that's why he's taking 2 weeks off work--to be my servant!! And my pillow No wonder I love so much!!
