Thumbs up - Just in Time surgery! Just in Time surgery!

Hi, sisters! I was diagnosed with severe endo before my first wedding aniversary (I was 31) in an emergency "appendicitis" surgery. Appendix was fine; (don't let anyone take out any organs that are fine, girls--it causes more scar tissue.) When I awoke, the doctor just said, "you will never be a parent." That was pretty cold, considering adoption is a lovely thing. No advice, no direction, no help. Ended up in the E.R. several times more until I heard of this new drug called Lupron; I asked for it, and luckily the insurance paid 500 dollars a shot for about 7 months. I fully expected to get pregnant after that. No such luck, ended up in the E.R. dehydrated, vomiting, in pain again.
We found a reproductive endocrinologist then same year who did my first laparotomy (oh, that hurt!). Then I had about 8 months free of pain. Two years later, another surgery with more laser removal. Two years later, another. Finally, I couldn't walk. My left leg wouldn't work, and I felt as if there was a heavy load I was carrying in my abdomen. After countless hospital stays, several ob-gyns, a colonoscopy, and other horrors, the Mayo clinic removed it all. My uterus had 2 tumors in the acutal wall, several cervical cysts and pre-cancerous cervical cells, infections of both yeast and garnerella, and streptococcous in my uterus. I missed having part of my colon taken out by about a month.

I grieve every day, because we tried for 8 years to have children (could not afford IVF); and I really feel the loss of my precious womanly organs. Sex is very difficult; but the pain I endured since the age of 17 is gone. I can only describe it as an elephant stepping on my tummy. I would crawl on the floor (my mother showed me how) with my backend in the air. (You can laugh). Mom said, "The more your periods hurt, the better. It means you are ovulating." Oh, dear hearts, don't believe it. My endo was so bad my doctor asked to take pictures and use me in his textbooks and lectures.
So glad I found this site as I continue to heal, inside and out. God bless you all.
