Pre-Op Hysterectomy: Open House Chat Thread - Today Jul 19, 2020

Hi
I am scheduled for a TAH on Monday 20, July. I was informed that I will have a spinal anesthesia. Though I have reconciled that I will be dropped off at the hospital, I worry whether I can use my phone and stay in touch with my husband and children after surgery

Pre-Op Hysterectomy: Open House Chat Thread - Today Jul 19, 2020

Good Morning. I am having a robotic assisted total abdominal hysterectomy with possible bilateral salpingo oophorectomy on Wednesday. I’m most concerned about the anesthesia, but my doctor assured me I would be completely fine. She said it would take approximately 2 to 2-1/2 hours from start to finish.

Hi!
My name isMelanie.
Tuesday, at 7:30 am I am having a partial hysterectomy done by DaVinci.
I had children via c-sections, (2). I am scared and anxious to be alone before and after surgery. I remember how hard it was to get up the 1st time after surgery. With new covid rules I will have to get up alone and pray nurses will help. My ex never left me alone in the hospital unless my mom was there so I had an advocate. To not have that, is overwhelming. I also pray I am making the correct decision. I went to Easter Seals and they lent me a walker. I bought tummy control spandex underwear, tanks, and a belly slimmer to wrap around my waste. My other fear is I’m a teacher and report back in 2 weeks. Students in 3 weeks. I pray they push back the start but just in case I already prepped my classroom. I would most like to ask for prayers and strength for us all.

Pre-Op Hysterectomy: Open House Chat Thread - Today Jul 19, 2020

Hi everyone. My name is Shauna. I’m 37 years old. I’m unmarried and I have no children. I had my first abdominal myomectomy in 2014. 7 fibroids were removed. Last October 23 I had my second abdominal myomectomy and removed 8 more fibroids. I knew there were some left. In May, my hemoglobin dropped to 51. I had to go to the ER and have a blood transfusion. I have been going for weekly IV iron infusion treatments to bring up my hemoglobin. As of Friday my hemoglobin was at 88. I have one more iron treatment on Tuesday before surgery on Thursday.

Re: Pre-Op Hysterectomy: Open House Chat Thread - Today Jul 19, 2020

Good morning,
My name is Shirley and I am having a full hysterectomy on Wednesday. I just got home from having my pre-op covid 19 testing.
I am very happy to have this surgery and finally have this pain and pressure gone and stop bleeding. My symptoms began in February and have gotten dramatically worse in the last several months.
Until last week I was so excited to have the surgery that I did not think too much about how intense the surgery was or the recovery. As it is getting closer I am getting more and more nervous.
