Darned ovary

Everyone seems to have very strong opinions about whether or not I should have my rmeaining ovary removed. I just found out that I have to have a hysterectmy after having my right ovary removed a year ago. While I have not made my surgery decisions yet (that appt. is this Thursday) my doc has asked me to do my research, but she is wanting to take the ovary. I am only 42 and my mother was in her mid 50s when she went through menopause. Any opinions???

may i ask why they want u to think about the removal of the last ovary? Are u having pain or anything like that?

I'm not sure why she want's to toake the ovary-I was in such shock about the whole thing. We'll have that discussion on Thursday. I had my other ovary removed because of a history of cysts and follicular ruptures and chronic pain. This ovary did show some small cysts in the ultrasound today. I'm just so overwhelmed at the thought of slamming into menopause, at the same time, I don't want to end up not getting rid of all of my pain.
