TAH: Afternoon surgery - so far, so good

Well, it's almost time! I will be admitted to the hospital at noon with surgery scheduled for 2pm. My bag is packed. I will take my shower with anti-bacterial body wash in about an hour and get dressed. The drive to the hospital is 10 minutes so I am just waiting, waiting, waiting...................

The hospital stuck with the "nothing by mouth after midnight" instuctions, so my tummy is growling but my mouth is not hungry, and no hunger headache yet, I was really worried about that. I am prone to monster headaches, so I worry about them a lot.

I had a cup of coffee at 10pm so I should be good until 10 tonight. By then I should be on pain killers and a caffeine headache won't matter.

Just waited to let others that have later day surgery know that much of what I worried about hasn't happened. I was able to get a good night's sleep even with the coffee, no headaches, and not unbearably hungry.

I will post again when I can.

Good luck!! My laparoscopy was at 4:45, and I remember how annoying it was to have to wait alllllll day long for that. I hope the time passes quickly for you, and you're on the road to recovery soon! Hoping for no headaches and hunger!
