granulation 6 months post hysterectomy - what's silver nitrate treatment like?

I have been having some right sided pelvic tenderness and some discharge. At appointment the doctor said I had some granulation tissue. Has anyone had granulation tissue this far post op? The doc wants to use silver nitrate to burn the tissue. Wondering how painful it is and will it take care of the problem?

Re: granulation tissue 6 months post hysterectomy

No personal insight, but I've read enough past posts to confirm that I've seen granulation diagnosed 8 months to 2 years, and several in between.

While you're awaiting replies from others who can share their experiences with silver nitrate, this article on Granulation Treatment After Hysterectomy will help in knowing what to expect. Some women do need an additional treatment - you'll know whether that's your case in a week or two - but often one is all that's needed.

I was just treated for granulation. Make sure you ask the doctor to use lidocaine. She didn’t and said it would sting. That was an understatement. Also be prepared with panty liners. There is a lot of discharge for about a week. It is fairly common.

granulation 6 months post hysterectomy - what's silver nitrate treatment like?

I had granulation tissue about 7 months later. I was treated with silver nitrate in the office. It was a bit uncomfortable but not painful. I had lots of silver discharge for over a week. I’ve since had a yeast infection and I think now a bacterial infection.

At my 4 week check I had some granulation on the right side. They used the silver nitrate. It was painless. Had no discharge of "gray paper" I have had them use the SN before when having a biopsy of my cervical fibroid. It also was painless.

Thank you for your replies. I did have the treatment and it was relatively pain-free, mainly a little bit of discomfort and also some discharge after. Thank you @Cussette, the article was helpful.
