Re: Starting to freak and question a bit!

I had 5 firbroids and had to have a blood transfusion from hemmorhaging and extremely painfull periods . I did not know I had andenomyosis . The surgery was a piece of cake compared to my periods and being so anemic .I didn't know that either until the blood transfusion . Looking back the last 2 years have been revolved around my period I did not realize this until the 3 weeks after surgery . I felt better than I had in 2 years. I wish you the best of luck !

Re: Starting to freak and question a bit!

You are so normal. We all get nervous in our way before surgery. Recovery will be a road, but it will be a different road. When you iron starts coming back up and the pain you feel is there but different than you had before it will be better. We all heal differently and in our own time. There is a post on the post op board asking if this was the best decision of our lives. Look at it and read the posts. You will find that most women say yes.

Your recovery will take time, but it will get better.

Good luck

Re: Starting to freak and question a bit!

Hi there - Hope this helps.
I felt OK most of the time with my fibroid uterus. But it just got to me because I had incontinence from the fibroids pressing on my bladder. Plus they 'stuck' out and made me look like I had such a big stomach. Also, they grow really rapidly in peri-menopausal years. Some say they shrink in menopause but mine didn't.
I had the LSH (laparoscopy subtotal hysterectomy) and it is THE BEST THING I ever did. This is day 7 post op and I feel great and Lighter. My Dr. showed me a photo of what he took out of me and I can't believe I hesitated.
I understand what your going through because I cancelled my surgery twice in years past. Now I just wish I knew I was going to sail through it with an LSH and feel so good.
Good luck with your decision.
I wish you well
