Hi everyone.

My name is Darlene I go by Dar

I had one week of post menopausal bleeding after 15 months without that sent me for ultrasounds, abdominal and trans-vaginal before and after to find a 13 mm stripe that did not go away after the bleeding episode. It felt like a normal cycle, painful breasts, cramping then after a week, I haven't had any bleeding etc since.

I had a biopsy that was normal, then a hysteroscopy where all of the samples the surgeon took were normal, with the exception of where he cut the strip/fibroid I guess and on the muscle layer he extracted there were a couple of atypical cells. So with that he consulted with two well respected obgyn oncologists who came to the same conclusion as he did, along with sending the sample to another lab for analysis and opinion. All felt that because of the atypical cells, it would be best to remove everything to be proactive and preventative. After all I am already in menopause and wasn't planning on anymore children. Have 8 Grandchildren as it is and a whole lot of animals 4 rescue cats, 1 rescue dog and 3 female Alpacas. I have a wonderful husband and life is very very good, am truly blessed.

I am still working full time and love my job. I hope to have a flourishing Alpaca Fiber and Breeding business one day.

That is about all I have about me. Hope I didn't go on too long or bore anyone. LOL

Hi darwoodhurst to HysterSisters!

I am so glad you found this site!

How wonderful that you have 8 grandchildren - congratulations! And it is so special that you have rescue animals, and a wonderful DH. You are truly blessed.

It is good to be pro-active with your health, and your doctor consulted oncologist to get the expert opinions about how to proceed. I know that this surgery still can be an overwhelming experience. We have lots of resources and articles to provide information. You may want to start out by reading our pre-op page. Ask whatever questions you have, and we will try to answer them for you.

darwoodhurst, welcome to HysterSisters! I'm Mischief586 and I will be your Sunshine Sister on your recovery report thread in the post-op forum. I'm glad your doctor has consulted with GYN oncologists, as they are the experts when it comes to treating cancer or suspected cancer. Will one of the GYN oncologists be performing your surgery? We have a --->Cancer Concerns forum that you may want to visit for additional support and information. You sound like a busy lady, working full-time, spoiling 8 grandchildren, pets, and Alpacas! Do keep in mind that you will have to slow down and take it easy during recovery. The Alpaca business sounds interesting. I'm sure you will be successful with it! with your upcoming surgery, and I will see you on the other side in recovery!
