Re: traveling after surgery

I'm 5 1/2 weeks post op and I still find sitting upright for long periods is uncomfortable. Right after the surgery it was very uncomfortable to sit straight in a chair for more than a few minutes at a time. I would also be worried about being so far from your physician if you have a complication. I would strongly encourage you to discuss this with your physician ahead of time!

Re: traveling after surgery

I am 7 1/2 weeks out from a DiV and sitting still bothers my vagina. When I drive, an hour will bother me. In a month I will have a trip where I will be driving 6 hours to get there. I am keeping some hydrocodone in case my vagina or right pelvic area should hurt. Seems driving bothers that side probably cause I use it for driving.

Another lady here went on a trip and she was fine in a car - not in her husbands' pickup. If you car rides smooth the car seat is comfy, you should be fine as long as it is not in the first couple weeks. And if you do start hurting you can always go lay down in the back seat.
