Upcoming hysterectomy 10/6: Anesthesiologist Pre-op Phone Interview??

Hello gals!
I'm scheduled for a da Vinci total hysterectomy in 4 weeks and I just got a call today from my doctor's office. Apparently, I'm supposed to be receiving a phone call from my anesthesiologist for a pre-op "phone interview." I was never informed of this, as I was under the impression that I would be speaking face-to-face with them prior to surgery.
While the call is no serious problem, I do have some issues understanding conversations over the phone (substantial hearing loss and constant ringing), and I also have a bit of a stutter, so communicating back is somewhat difficult sometimes (especially if I'm stressed, and let's face it, this situation is not a walk in the park).
So my question is this: What kinds of questions will they be asking, and what information should I have at the ready BEFORE they call? Just want to cut back on fumbling my answers and repetitively saying, "I'm sorry, could you repeat that, please?"
I want to make the call go by as smooth and fast as a clipper ship on glass seas!

In mine, they really just got complete medical history info, all meds I was taking, etc. at the end they gave me my pre surgery instructions, what meds to stop, etc.

In addition to what coughy16 mentioned, I was asked how I was walking and climbing stairs, a measure of how well my cardiovascular system was working. I was also asked if I had any drug allergies or other medical issues, and if I had any other questions or pertinent information. Here's hoping for a smooth interview, a successful surgery, and a smooth recovery!

I would tell them I needed an in person visit due to significant hearing loss. That is your right. I had no in-advance anesthesia interview but when I saw them pre op they asked if any family members had anesthesia problems, did I have sleep apnea, meds I took, and health conditions I had. Also, any neck or breathing issues. And history of anesthesia. But more important, if you have phone communication issues, tell them you need a plan to accommodate that.

When I had my first surgery, the cold knife cone, I got a call from the anesthesiologist the night before. In addition to the questions the above sisters mentioned he also asked if I was a smoker, if I, or anyone in my immediate family, had ever had adverse effects from anesthesia before.

I don't think it is asking too much to ask if you can do the visit in person if that would make you more comfortable.

I have to say I'm surprised they don't want to see you.
The anesthesiologist picked up on my anxiety instantly. He would not have on the phone.

I'd ask for an in person appt too
