Keep Cervix? Anyone in Maryland?

Hi FreeDiva. Yes I am starting to get a little nervous. My pre-op appt. with my Dr. is tomorrow and my pre-op testing is next Tuesday. My list of questions for the Doc. is all set. I have a few last minute things to purchase. Some of the ladies have been talking about large "granny" panties. I have to buy them. There is so much good advice on this site. I am lucky that I stumbled upon it. Are you getting nervous yet? I guess it is normal to get nervous before this surgery or any surgery. Soon we will be joining other sisters on the other side and we will giving advice to the ladies in waiting. Do you know how long you will be in the hospital? I am scheduled for an overnight stay. I can't wait until it is all over. Waiting has been the hardest part for me. I will be keeping you in my prayers. Take care of you.

Just adding my 2 cents. My cervix is gone, and sex is probably better than it was before. Don't worry about this if you happen not to have a choice in the matter; we aren't having a contest as to who gets to hold onto the most body parts!

Hello free diva! Happened to see your post. I am from MD, but far away from Silver Spring. I hope that your surgery goes well and that your recovery will be speedy. I am trying to decide whether or not I am ready to go through with the surgery. I have a prolapsed uterus. I'm uncomfortable, but not sure if I'm uncomfortable enough to go thru with the surgery just yet. My kids are still young and I also suffer from chronic fatigue, so "bouncing back" will probably not happen for me! Anyway, wanted to let you know that there is a fellow MD-er here!
