OK to paint toenails?

Can I get my toenails painted? One of my friends told me no and another said it's OK.

OK to paint toenails?

Hi Wontmissit!

At my appointment with my gyn prior to my surgery, his nurse handed me a pre-surgery guideline type of brochure that listed all of the "do's and don't's." Did you receive anything like this? If so...and it mentions nothing about nail polish on toes being forbidden, then I would assume it is not an issue.

Many s and Best Wishes,

OK to paint toenails?

As Carmen said, check any info you may have been given. Has the hospital called to speak with you prior? A nurse from the pre surgery department had called me 2 days prior to my surgery. I had a pedicure done a few days before. I don't think they noticed my toes until post surgery since I had the slipper socks the hospital gave me when I checked in. The nurses on the floor did like the color once my socks were removed and I was using my own slippers to get around. I did have artificial nails and was told I would have to remove them. Also no jewelry including any body piercings. Good luck with your surgery.

OK to paint toenails?

My pre-assessment with a hospital nurse told me no fingernail or toenail polish but each hospital and nursing staff may be different. Heck they might not even notice!!

Good luck with your surgery.

OK to paint toenails?

My pre-op information said no nail polish. I have gel fingernails so I am hoping as long as I don't wear colored polish it will be fine but that is something to doublecheck at your pre-op appt. Good luck to you

OK to paint toenails?

I checked with the hospital at my pre-admission testing, and they said toenails were fine, and if I wanted my fingernails done, I would need a light color....So my toenails were bright pink!!! Made me happy to see them....they cheered me up in the hospital....

OK to paint toenails?

I was allowed light color polish on finger and toenails. I was supposed to remove all jewelry. I had to lose my belly ring But they did let me leave in my ear cartlidge piercing, the prep nurse just taped over it.

OK to paint toenails?

I was told no polish on toes or fingers. They want to be able to see your nail beds. They watch for them to change in color indicating a decrease in oxygen in your body.

I was also not permitted any finger or toe polish. I was allowed to wear my wedding ring taped over. It depends on the hospital policy.
