I went to a different OBGYN for a second opinion and she was much more sympathetic. Because of my symptoms, she said it's almost 100% for sure adenomyosis, and that hysterectomy is the only surgery that will help with that. Luckily she does the robotic assist, so she said the recovery will be much easier.

I'm not even technically anemic at this point, though my ferritin level is at 19 as of last week. I've been taking iron pills to try and keep up, and it seems to be doing the trick. The only really concerning thing was the platelet count, but she said that's typical when severe blood loss is involved. I'm really hoping everything goes back to normal health-wise within a few months of surgery.
