18 years post op

Wow, it's been 18 years since I had my hysterectomy (as well as removal of ovaries). I recently lost my GP to Covid and he was my saving grace working with me to get my HRT balanced. Thankfully, the HRT regime I am on is working and I feel great.

To all the ladies waiting for their hyster, considering one or, having just gone through the surgery, please hang in there, it's a tough surgery to go through with lots of emotional issues attached but I can promise that there is light at the end of the tunnel and that your life will be fulfilling after.

I am so grateful to Hystersisters - I don't think I would have come through the surgery as well as I did without the support I received. Sometimes, just be reading the other posts, answered my questions as well.

Be strong ladies and keep moving forward.

Lots of love!

Re: 18 years post op

Thanks for the encouraging post Michele! I am 9 months post op and still struggling with some surgical menopause symptoms of fatigue and hot flashes. No HRT because of a clotting disorder. It is good to hear others have successfully made it through to the other side. I agree, Hystersisters has been amazing. Every time I have a question about a symptom I look on this forum first because someone else has inevitably had it as well and has suggestions
