Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Oct 26-Nov 01,2020
Good post as I am looking around at things not being so tidy in my house BUT I am not risking my health for it either. My nurse had a quick phone meeting with my support person right before I was discharged (same day) and ran down the list of things I couldn’t do, so I’m glad for that reinforcement. I can definitely feel some of those ligaments twinge and throb sporadically, I couldn’t imagine irritating them. This is major for sure, thanks for this info!

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Oct 26-Nov 01,2020
Ladies I FINALLY passed my first bowel movement today - 3 days post op. Crying because I’m just so relieved it happened, and it truly exhausted me. It was very hard and I had to be patient and just wait for it to come and come back to the toilet later for more. Last night was one of the worst nights of my life, I had so much gas pain and am not allowed to push and I was just wailing and almost screaming cause it hurt to sob. Bless my partner for running to get me Miralax at almost 10pm, I was hysterical. Never been in more pain in my life. Think today things may finally start to improve since I’m able to pass gas easier and finally poop. Hoping to finally take a shower and maybe my first short walk outside but we will see how much showering exhausts me. This is a lot tougher than I thought it was gonna be.

Good luck getting home, thinking of you! The catheter makes it really hard to pee at first, it made me feel like my bladder was full when the nurses kept telling me they sucked it all out lol! Hope you can get some good rest soon and the tear gets repaired

Hey ladies! I'm Anj! I'm 1dpo. They kept me overnight last night. I'm home now with my niece taking care of me.
I had been diagnosed with adenomyosis. But, then a third dr/2nd gyno thought maybe no adeno but ablation growing back. Now, during the hysterectomy (not sure what so the acronyms stand for) he found endometriosis behind an ovary. So, time will tell if I it was completely the wrong call.
Anyways, what's done is done. Trying to figure out how to heal from the hysterectomy with a little 3lb dog that needs me to pick him up and put him down ten thousand times a day!

I’m home and finally awake. Last night I threw up a lot, each time after trying to eat. I think it was the anesthesia. Right now I have gas pain, even with the Gas X. I’m able to pee, although it hurts like heck because they did a cystoscopy. I think I had a migraine last night from not eating all day. Hopefully I can eat a little bit today.
They sent me home with a bunch of meds but the instructions aren’t real clear. I may have to call and get clarification.

Day 2 has been a bit rougher than I thought. Lots of meds and rest for me today. Lots of gas, so hoping things start moving soon. Not much of an appetite. Afraid to eat too much until after I've had a BM. Short walks through the house every hour or so seem to help with the gas. Sore throat is lingering. Heating pad to the abdomen has been my best friend today. Didn't sleep well last night. Had a nice long nap today. Hoping to rest better tonight and maybe feel a bit better tomorrow.

They can give you antinausea meds too. HOpe you're feeling better. The cystoscope is almost always done in association with hysterectomy in the USA. But, it does cause a few days of weirdness/pain!

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Oct 26-Nov 01,2020
On day 4 of recovery, finally got to go on my first walk! Just went about 2 blocks down and back, stairs and talking when walking still exhaust me.
I had a crap ton (pun intended) of bowel movements yesterday, as well as today, and am finally feeling like each day is getting a tiny better, mainly due to being able to pass gas and bowel movements now. Can identify when gas and a bowel movement are coming, and it is unpleasant, but I can sit down and it all releases. Get yourselves a squatty potty, it has saved me! I'm taking Colace stool softener 3x a day, as well as Miralax 1x a day, it's doing it's job lol! Gasx 4x a day too but it doesn't feel like it does much.
My lowest incision is a bit indented when standing and hurts the most out of all 4 incisions, but I'm doing ok without my pain meds now as of yesterday. Can walk a lot better without my abdominal binder now instead of feeling like a limp noodle. Cant wait to see how I feel tomorrow. Hang in there ladies!!

Agree about the Gas X not doing much, lol. My dr explained about the meds and hopefully I’ll feel better today now that I’m taking them right, lol.
Passing some gas. No BM yet, but I’m taking the stool softener and Benefiber.
Walking around every couple hours. I’d like to try to take a shower later.
