Glad you are here and asking questions.

My personal experience is "your mileage may vary" meaning that everyone's experiences are different. From what I know and have seen here on the site ite seems that women who experienced pain more frequently seem to report that things are better than prior to the surgery.

Those who didn't have pain prior to the surgery can sometimes find more challenges (that was me).

The first few times you will need to go slow and be patient.

Can it be different? Yes Can it be good? Yes.

Remember initial recovery is 2/4 to 6/8 weeks and full recovery is 6 months to year.

Re: Terrified About Sex after surgery :(

You made me laugh saying maybe everyone doesn't think about these things...I would be surprised if anyone here wasn't worried about what the sexual effects would be!

A lack of hormones can cause you to lose interest. For women who don't take hormone replacement therapy, there can definitely be a lack of interest and arousal. People blame that on the hysterectomy but it's just low hormones - plenty of people full of uteruses and ovaries also have very little interest in sex because of low hormones. Just because they're still in there doesn't mean they are still producing optimal levels of hormones.

Physically, it's probably a very individual thing, depending on what your condition was prior to the surgery, what type of surgery was done, and how you recover - and how diligent you are about waiting until you are fully recovered.

It doesn't help much to worry about it. If you have to have a hysterectomy, then there is nothing you can do about what may or may not happen with the sexual sensations. Just hope for the best!
