pre-op..no problem, insurance a pain

Hi ladies, Just wanted you all to know that I had my pre-op visit at Dr.'s and hosp. today. It was a breeze. I only had to see the nurse to sign papers, (only have to do fleet enema), and get general info about what to expect day of surgery, and what to do and not to do afterward. Then off to the castle for some blood work. DH and I had a good laugh about the pregnancy test since my tubes were tied 9 months ago before my HTA. Between the tied tubes and the "boiled" and scarred uterus, I don't think I stand a snowballs chance in haites, but I played along and did the test.lol I am at the point now where I just want it over. Oh, in addition when I met with the business office I found out that they just got the pre certification from insurance about 45 mninutes before my 2:30 appt!!! Thank God they never called to say they were having all sorts of trouble getting me pre certified. Seems heavy bleeding, debilitating cramps, suspected adenomyosis, and a failed ablation don't add up to enough synotoms and options really tried before doing hyst!! Very infuriating. They even asked if I had tried floor excercises? NOt sure if they meant pelvic floor excercises, but I really don't think that would end bleeding issues. Got to love insurance companies! I have a feeling my Dr. wanted to do the LSH in Aug. but had to jump through hoops before doing what he knew would be the right thing for me. Makes no sense to me that they will pay for upteen different treatments that don't really work for adenomyosis, and spend 3 times as much as if they would just let the problem be dealt with in the only way possible. Oh well enough ranting sorry!!!! Will post later. Thanks to you all for being here to chat with.

I'm glad that you had an easy pre op
Hopefully the insurance issues are over. I think that they just try to be cautious but I know that it can be frustrating to us when we're the ones having to wait for approval.

Best wishes.
