Gifts for nurses?

That's another nice idea! Hmmm....I wonder if my dh would do it....he already thinks im crazy lol. He doesn't understand why we should get them gifts when they get paid to do it. Typical male way of thinking i suppose. However, it's a noble profession, nursing. They work ALOT and have to deal with crabby people all day, work more than docs and don't get paid near the same, so I say giving them something that shows you appreciate them is good. And donuts wouldn't be a bad addition to the basket hehe. Thanks

I'm less than 2 weeks post op for my cone biopsy. I wasn't there very long, but the nurses were fantastic! I made a joke about putting some coffee in my IV, and when I was brought back to my room, my nurse had a hot cup of coffee (real cup, not from a machine) waiting for me! I pour candles, and am putting together a basket for the nurses from that day, and will have another ready to give them when I have my hyst. I think most nurses don't get enough recognition!

I brought two baskets of candies to the hospital for the staff. One I left with the pre-op nurses, and the other I had in my room. I always told whoever was in my room to help themselves. (the cleaning people thought I was nuts!) Then I left the rest of the basket with the nurses when I left. They were very kind people and I thought it was the least I could do.
