Back from preop....

Well I went to my preop this afternoon; signed the papers, got all my questions answered, blood work done, and I'm good to go...... or so I thought! :cry:

It turns out that since my surgery was booked in March my wonderful doctor is now going on a summer vacation. One guess as to the date. Yup, that's right! on the day of my surgery so now my date has been cancelled!:cry:

I have to wait till next week for a new date. But right now I'm wondering "why me?" and the other women that are on his OR list for that week.

All my stuff is done, anyone out there want to give up their OR time? LOL

This LIW is going to wallow in some selfpity for an hour and then eat ice cream.

Sorry to hear about your date being cancelled, its too bad he couldn't have figured out his vacation plans in March before his staff starting scheduling, I hope they get you a new date soon close to your previous date so you dont' have to do preop blood work again,

Sorry to hear about the surgery schedule changes!!! Since March? That is not good PR is it!!!! I know he needs a vacation---and you might be better off to be the first one on his schedule when he returns!!! I'm sorry that your plans have had to be changed!!!


When you get your new surgery date, please go to your CONTROL PANEL and EDIT PROFILE to ADD SURGERY DATE. This will change the calendar and get it right in your profile! ((THANKS))

I'm so sorry to hear that!!! Why do they schedule surgeries so far out when the doctor hasn't made his own schedule yet??? Hope your not delayed too much! Did you enjoy your ice cream?

It's 24 hours later and don't feel any better (although the ice cream did help LOL)

I found out today that if I'm not able to return to work by Sept 8th I may not have a job to come back to. It's a long story about contracts and subsitutes but I do understand the reasons they have. So, the long or short of it is; keep my fingers crossed for a new surgery date before mid July, or , let go of my job to have my surgery and hope to have my "normal" life back agian. Well I suppose it's out of my hands now and all I can do is hope.
