Mesh Protrusion 8 weeks Post Sacro
So I had a robotic assisted sacrocolpopexy on 10/10/16. Surgery went really well with the exception of extensive adhesions and vaginotomy (oops hole in vag). Had BV diagnosed at 5 week check up and got flagyl. I also had a tiny piece of mesh in vaginal discharge, doc said that it was probably left over from the cutting they do. I kept getting phantom pains i vagina like a sharp pinching like with finger nails, figured it was just my body settling into place with the mesh. Finally the big night came, things went good and almost no pain for me and hubby was very happy. Then the pinching pain came back more and more. About 7 1/2 weeks dh claimed that it felt like something scratched him. I was too sore to investigate so waited to next morning. Wow, could definitely feel vaginotomy crater and a rough string. Like a dummy I pulled and ouch, looked like strand of mesh (hoped it was left over stitch), about a week longer and pain and discharge got worse. Could feel sharp plastic, and I called doc. They said I didnt need to be seen that I just needed Yuvafem for a couple of weeks. She said too soon for anything else. I know I am a bad girl, but I keep wanting to just yank it out so the pain and discharge will go away. Any advice

I am very sorry. You are not a bad girl. This happens everyday with mesh. In my opinion your are suffering from fbr. Foreign Body Reaction to the mesh.
Research and educate yourself, research ucla total mesh removal, I went there to have my mesh removed, when local doctors here in Tennessee would not help me.
Do not let just any doctor cut or revise the mesh. Read about partial vs total mesh removal.
Good luck to you.

Mesh Protrusion 8 weeks Post Sacro
Thanks, I can't seem to figure out why my doc is not even wanting to examine. She just sent a rx and said it was too early for anything like erosion . Personally I think the mesh started to protrude through the oops hole right away now my body just wants to keep trying to push it out to heal the hole. Hopefully I can find a new urogynecologist to fix this asap because I have heard the earlier the removal the better in cases like mine

Hope that you can get it removed asap. Your doctor sounds like an idiot. You've described classic mesh erosion. I don't know how your body would get better on its own from mesh protruding. Its not your fault you tried to get rid of it by pulling, but the idea of it made me cringe. I waited a year to have my mesh removed. I don't recommend it. It can ruin your life if you wait too long.
