Auntie Flo wins battle, loses war!

Today was my one-week pre-op appointment. The doc was still concerned about removing the ovaries and cervix, but after seeing me today, he was grinning, "You'll be a new woman!" And he's removing everything!

Auntie has not been nice this time around, on day 8 of blood everywhere and now doing the "labor pains" to pass blood clots. I'm so freaking tired it's not funny, and it hurts to breathe. I couldn't sit up nor stand up straight in the doc's office 'cause it hurts so much.

While he's taking me out of work for 6-8 weeks in case it becomes a TAH, he said that the TLAVH (everything out) could be as short as a 2 week recovery and I may only need one day in the hospital (ins. co approved 2 days, more if needed).

So I'm in pain, but I know Auntie's number is up and she's outta here in 6.5 days. I know the local bakery is gonna be relieved, too.

Hello Chocolate4Cure.....if the surgery has to become a TAH....I had a SAH and it wasn't near as bad as I thought it would be. I'll be praying for the other.....but I just wanted to let you know if they do have to do the BIG cut....it wasn't as bad as I thought it would have been. Good luck!!!

Ugh that sucks. Maybe "She" senses she'll be gone for good? My problem is the absence of periods, and guess who is knocking on the door?? Ugh.

Re: Auntie Flo wins battle, loses war!

Well mine finally made its appearance...an actual period- not spotting. First one since October. Of all times, WHY NOW??

Do you have to cancel your hysterectomy if you have a period??

Re: Auntie Flo wins battle, loses war!

Nope, the doc says it won't make a difference what it's doing when it comes out. They're not scared of blood.

It's only gonna be a 15 day period this time.

WOW. Aren't you glad it's going away? I told a couple of my friends today and they were like, "She" must be really angry that you are going to have your hysterectomy. LOL!!!
