Is it OK to bleach/color hair just prior to surgery?

Does anyone know if it is a problem to color or bleach your hair a few days prior to surgery? Not sure if the chemicals go into your system or would matter, thought I would ask, I woke up looking all washed out and need some blond highlights NOW!!!

I colored mine a few days ago and my surgery is tomorrow. I think the only time haircolor/perming is a problem is when you're pregnant, but I would call your doctor's office to confirm.

I coloured my hair last thursday ( noticed a few extra grey, must be worry ) my TAH/BSO is monday, i dont think it matters if you colour your hair before surgery, anyway i think its nice to pamper ourselves a bit before surgery, after all, we all need to look our best. i also got my hair cut so that it would be tidier whilst i was in hospital. All the best.

I did mine before surgery so I wouldn't have to do it while recovering. No problems!

I had my hair highlighted a week before my surgery and had no problems. My hairdresser told me that I'd need to wait a few weeks if I had it done after surgery. There can be a reaction with the anesthesia.
